I can't wait to hear people saying MLF and Gutey are just lucky he has Love and Aaron Jones to bail him out in 6 weeks

LVN catching Fields to the edge and preventing positive yardage is something I remember. We seem to have far more speed on DEF than in a long time.

Can’t help but be happy tonight. It was far from perfect, but it was a convincing win regardless.

Some thoughts:

- Love had some struggles but he also showed poise and delivered when it was most important: on 3rd/4th down. I believe the announcers said he had a perfect QB rating on 3rd down throws, which is fantastic!

- the O-Line was very good! Myers had a few bad run blocks but for the most part Love was clean and Jones/AJ had space to exploit. Jones, in particular, was fantastic!

- the defense put its money where it’s mouth is…finally! Outstanding overall performance! Savage, DL, ILBs, CBs were studs!

- however…Rudy Ford is a liability. He struggled in coverage and tackling. He’s a weak link.

- Anders Carlson. Never had a doubt. #flippingbirdemojitoforum

7 TFL!

Does that include the 4 sacks? It doesn't, right?

Defense doing work. Bad OL, but still.

The revisionist history will be

Jordan Love basically fell in Gutey's lap.

And under any normal quarterback it would have been an additional 4 to 5 sacks.

I know it's a long season. I know we will lose a lot of games and will have frustrations.

But damnit I am enjoying this ride.

I might be at the Falcons game. Let's go 2-0!!!!!

I felt Love played well for a first real start. I think he will need to be more efficient moving forward to beat better teams. Just above 50% completion isn’t good enough. Watson back will help significantly I would suspect.

Myers was really bad most of the day IMO. He single handedly killed 2 early drives.

Tackling looked like it was the first game of the year. As the score began to mount and turnover appeared the defense improved. They’re front runners still IMO which isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the regular season but come playoffs that won’t win games.

Musgrave looked good except that one post corner he ran and turned to early. I thought he really challenged Chi.

AJ Dillon is useless. Any time he is one the field this team is so much worse. So the rotation. Grind Jones into the ground for a year and look to move on from both for a cheap mid round option.
