These Bears actually…don’t suck?

Bears are up by 10 over the Redskins with 7 minutes left.
Will they or will they not implode again?
#51 is watching along with #34.

With Dick Butkus watching, the Bears finally won a game.

The parallels between last night's TNF game and last week's TNF game featuring the Packers-Lions was weird. Both games went into halftime with the home team down 27-3. The home teams both mounted a furious 2nd half comeback, beginning with a TD/2pt conversion to get rolling, and both home teams failed in the 4th quarter in getting over the comeback hump.
It just seemed oddly familiar to me.
Anyway, despite the win the Bears still suck.

I had noticed that too.
Both times home team got pounded in the first half.
Washington’s D was quite embarrassing in the first half. Execution, effort, some of the poorest lazy, uninterested arm tacking I’ve seen. Seems like our effort was better, just out schemed and got our butts kicked more.

Eagles, Lions and Niners are all looking great so far. Can the Pack host a playoff game?

McCaffrey was looking like the 2nd coming of Jimmy Taylor.....and then he fumbled.

49ers are just solid up and down the entire roster. Playmakers at the skill positions on offense, a smart QB, and a tough ass defense.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Patriots look baaaaad. Bill Belichick is peeing all over his own legacy.

The thing about their defense is it’s constructed properly. They have a strong front that stops the run and forces teams into long 3rd downs where they can get pressure. You don’t really need a good secondary as long as they aren’t putrid.
Idk why anyone would build a strong secondary and have really good pass rushers but have such awful run defense personnel that they would never get to display their pass defense in 3rd and long situations.
That would be almost as stupid as as having a team on the cusp of a SB and then drafting an entire crop of backup players for the future that ultimately end up being bad players.

Hmm..ya, having the 12th overall pick and drafting someone you plan to play 3 years in the future is pretty stupid. Especially when you have a HOF aging QB.

I think MN might have gotten screwed at the end of that game.
They used up a boat load of luck last year squeaking out tight games to win the division.

No offense but we presently are not on the same level as these 3 teams you mentioned in your post here. IF we find a way to squeak into the playoffs it will be as a WC team. But don't hold your breath. I think we are at least a year away.

No kidding. Belichick should have retired on top. After all the success that franchise has enjoyed they should be crappy for a while if you consider the law of averages.

So close...
You were thiiiiiis close to getting through a post without, again, dragging the same bitching and moaning narrative into yet another thread. Damn, thought you maybe had a breakthrough for a moment there...

The 49ers front is what I thought the Packers front could be a poorer version of this year.
I thought our front 7 had tremendous potential. But then the Lions game happened.

Joe Barry
thought I'd fix that 4 ya.
Our front does have good potential, but unless ya play them we'll never get to see it, Barry doesn't need to use 20 fronts, or nickel on 75% of the downs, imo it's a sin that he doesn't use more base.

The 49ers had Oren Burks playing 51% of the D snaps... He had his first career INT and TD. Personnel is not the main worry for the Packers. It can be 49ers light if we would play our guys like the 49ers do...
