Waaaaay too early 2024 GBP Roster

Post by Scott4Pack »

Does anybody here have a text version of the current roster? I'd like to mess around this weekend and predict the next roster. Don't want to type it all out. But it's actually exciting to think about our roster for next year.

Looking forward to everybody's thoughts!
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

If it does in this case, it's been baffling for 32 years now!

it's always been baffling, do you think Jim Ringo had fore warning he was getting traded after simply asking for a raise, or how about Lambeau all set to move the team, or buying a elaborate training head quarters, I doubt anyone saw that stuff on the horizon in Packer land

UFA didn't start this barnum and baily circus, it had been going on since this league started in 1920, so to me it's normal, or as normal as it's ever been.

Ringo was getting old and told them he wouldn't mind a trade to Philly closer to his home. We got Lee Roy Caffey and the draft pick they used on Donnie Anderson. The story was told to put some fear into other players.
Both Peppler and Ringo later noted that the confrontation with Lombardi and Ringo never took place, and in fact, even Lombardi admitted it to a friend of his, stating, ‘Hell, no, the trade didn’t take place in five minutes. That’s no way to general-manage a football team.’ That was privately, though. In public, Lombardi totally confirmed the story to reporters when asked about his take on agents and players, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah! They both get out of my office in a hurry. And the one with the ultimatum, if he does not relent, gets traded!’ Peppler noted that Lombardi made a point of spreading the story, with the hope that it would dissuade other players from hiring agents or making strong contract demands.

All the power to you. That is a pretty bold undertaking before FA or The Draft.

Can the Packers afford Antoine Winfield? Looks like with our new DC, safety is critical, and you can't draft and start a first year safety. It's about the longest developing position on the field.

Man I would love him.

I credit him probably more than anyone on the Bucs when they beat us in 2020 (after King and Pettine). Talk about a tone setter and a guy you’d want playing in December/January in Lambeau. Absolute dog.

He must’ve been pretty inspiring for his teammates from the sidelines considering he didn’t play

Man, that is embarrassing. That was Jordan Whitehead on that big hit on Jones (not as big a hit as I recall). Don't drink and watch kids. In my defense, I always refuse to rewatch anything from heartbreaking losses.

Short answer is yes…but at a present player/future cap cost.
