Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

I'm ready for EQSB and I'm going with him.

I could be talked into Raven Greene at this point.

Both are 3rd year players with athletic ability and flashes of production who have missed developmental time with injury and remain unknowns. Both could earn large roles if they play to their ability or could be ST/bench warmers if they don't materialize. Or anywhere in between.

Sometimes you gotta go with upside who hasn't yet had the chance to prove they DON'T belong over solid players who have shown that they can hang, but have also indicated they won't rise above that level

Gosh, I have no idea here. I guess I'm leaning ESB, but Burks or Martin, Hollman, Keke, or Ervin could certainly get my vote.

Does anyone have a hankering to have someone up that isn't yet? Love and Crosby are the next two I plan to put up there.

Was between MVS and Greene for me, and I went with MVS. He has the wheels to take the top off a defense and showed promise in year 1, and had the famous sophomore slump. Ready for him to take a step forward as WR2/3.

MVS, EQ, Williams, Greene. Then I have no idea.

I went with Jamal Williams because I think he will have an impact on the season. I think the board overrated AJ Dillon coming out of the gates and EQ and MVS just cancel each other out so much that I can't pick one over the other. Both should go soon, though.

I expect big things from Keke, but just not sure he will get the snaps needed to matter. As we beat to death, its a run stopper that we really need and Lancaster really disappointed in that role last season.

Gotta go with Williams now. I do expect his touches to go down due to Dillon and more Ervin. That said, I do expect he will get touches pretty consistently as a runner and receiver. Also, his blocking and ST play remain valuable.


On a side note, I looked up the rookie season stats of St. Brown, mainly to determine how much of my optimistic, positive impression was based on a few nice flash-plays more than anything else. He got just over 320 yards as a rookie with no scores. MVS's 'disappointing' season last year (where I'm pretty sure he was hurt) was good for 580-odd yards and 2 TDs.

For the time being, I am still inclined to have MVS over EQSB. Sure, MVS did seem to have work to do, but he is likely farther along in development at this point than St. Brown (who I expect will be rusty coming back from IR).

That's my thinking with Hollman and Keke. If either makes a nice jump from year 1 to 2, the snaps are very much there for the taking. Both have real solid upside potential remaining as well.

One of Burks or Martin is likely to get a lot of snaps. Which one wins that battle. Burks has a head start, but he hasn't run very far with it, the downside being he's thus far completely failed to impress and is fast using up his potential. Might be the wise move to move on to Martin, see if he can play.

He is so much better than Geronimo Allison. His ball plucking. his middle of the field work. And his speed and moves after the catch.

this is about where I howl for the kickers, and both of ours have been pretty good, however I still think we have some guys we havn't seen a ceiling with yet, so it's almost a guess about who will make a leap, I expect a few to, I just can't get past what Green was able to do prior to injury, or that the D coaches have all hinted they expect it from Keke, or that I always say interior zone coverage is a tough learn and Burks could leap off the bench this year and run away with that position (mostly I'am hoping/scratch that praying ) for that, at this point I expect one of the remaining 2 stoogers to demand I call them by there rightful name, I'am praying for that one too whatever I think we've improved the depth of this team quite a bit, and I didn't even mention our presumed #3 RB williams, these are really tough choices to me now, practically flip of a coin would be a good call, however Williams as average as he is can still get the yrds both on the ground and through the air, he's my pick today.

I voted for Raven Greene but I will keep saying that this is largely because of perceived reality over anything.

The dude has played like 6 quarters his entire career. So we are largely basing his "potential" based on game tape of the preseason and at Chicago week 1 in 2019. Oh and that he was freaking jacked last year.

I wonder if Tyler Lancaster will show anything this year. He was legit good his rookie year the last month or so, and not just in the run game. Definite regression last year. Talented kid with a lot of potential, a lot better athlete and many likely think.

Most years I'm hyped about this tier of Packers, but now I find it tough to get excited. This year I'm hyped about the top talent on the team and just praying some of these guys step up big time.

Went Raven Greene. Even if we don't use a ILB/S hybrid as much as last season, I think it has a role in this D. And Greene is the frontrunner to that role.
