Congratulations to the following Packers players voted to the Pro Bowl roster:
RB Josh Jacobs
DE Rashan Gary
FS Xavier McKinney
Complete roster:

Of note, Patrick Mahomes did not make the PB roster for the first time since becoming a starter. The fact he’s led his team to their best record since he’s become a starter is a bit of irony.

Don't get Gary. The OL has been pretty good, thought one or two were deserving.

Two weeks into the fan vote, Gary was the 9th overall DE vote getter, 4th in the NFC. Unless he got a significant late push from fans, it would appear the coaches and player vote is what got him in.

McKinney doesn’t deserve to start over Lions safety Joseph. Jacobs doesn’t deserve it over Saquan so that’s fine. Gary shouldn’t be a pro bowler at all.

Why not? Because of a couple extra INTs?

McKinney is way better at flag football. The NFL clearly doesn’t want a knee injury cheap shot on an all pro.

This blurb from Christian Watson's dad sums up both the Kerby Joseph non-selection and, conversely, the Rashan Gary selection quite nicely:
ON KERBY JOSEPH NOT MAKING THE PRO BOWL:
Of course anyone with even a little bit of NFL football knowledge is well aware that Kerby should’ve made the Pro Bowl this season. Word is he received the most votes for a safety according to the Fans Voting!
So, why didn’t he make the Pro Bowl?
Well, that means the NFL Players and Coaches DID NOT vote for him to make it. So, regardless of whatever you all think of that, let me make you aware as someone who’s been in the locker room discussion while we select those guys, that THIS WAS A VERY CLEAR MESSAGE FROM HIS PEERS AND COACHES LEAGUE-WIDE!
His on-field production is unquestionable, and will likely garner 1st Team All-Pro Honors at the end of the season… BUT, It’s also quite clear that NFL players and coaches have a problem with how he plays the game… He can take that however he chooses, but it is an absolute reality, just in case y’all thought the complaints were merely outliers!

Gary has not been as productive as a pass-rusher as we would like at his contract, but I will say, he got a lot better this year against the run and at being a more well-rounded player. Up to this point he was kind of a liability against the run, pass-rush only.

IMO McKinney's play is even more impressive when you consider we didn't have JA out there more all these weeks.

It could be because other QBs have outplayed him as far as stats go?

Fixed it for ya.
No need for additional qualifier.

I think this explanation is good about Joseph. Not sure how applicable it is about Gary, other than coaches and players voted for him.

true, but then neither has LVN, or anyone who sticks to whats been taught, which is to defend the run and stay in your gap first and foremost, it's why we rank so well against the run, and if you are doing that, then you lose a split second of initiating contact while the O liner gets that advantage of grabbing and containing, ya can't do both well at the same time, but we are getting better.

Joseph is a cheap shot dirty player, no one could ever say that about Gary, heck has Gary ever been fined?

You inadvertently nailed it.
Pro Bowl selection, as I understand it, is a three-tiered selection process. The fans get a vote as do the players and coaches. There is some weighting per voting bloc - I don't know the exact algorithm - but that is the gist of it.
The player and coach votes reflect how they view the play of the individual. It is precisely what the Watson Sr tweet about Joseph spoke to, and we can assume it directly relates to Gary only in reciprocal fashion.
In other words, it stands to reason if Gary didn't have a strong fan vote showing, as was apparent two weeks into voting, he made up for it with the player and coach voting. They obviously respect Gary's game and their votes to put him into the Pro Bowl reflect that.

I was quietly hoping for everyone except X to get “snubbed”, so they’d have an axe to grind in the playoffs…

Yes. I was getting at that with Joseph his character was a problem with player and coach votes. But Gary it was player and coaches that view his play favorably, but unlikely his good character had much to do with it.

Yeah.
Except we said that every year when the Packers sent nobody to the Pro Bowl and still went 1-1 at best in the post season. I'm to the point of that argument not mattering at all.
