MM available?

You are an almighty Packers GM. In such case, would you fire MLF and re-install MM? I‘d consider it for sentimental reasons. We had a good ride with Mike. He made #12, he rescued #4. He has a street named after him in GB. MLF just does not look like he has a SB in him. Or is MM washed up in your eyes?

I like MM but things ran their course here with him at the helm. I also don't think LaCoach will every win a SB, just doesn't seem to have the killer instinct or attention to detail (likes to talk about things like fumbling, but not actually do ball security drills in practice).

No, MLF is way better.

I agree with the last assessment. But when he left us back then he was basically burned out. Afterwards, He looked decent with a limited Cowboys team.

This is indubitably false.

lol.
Nobody was saying entering 2023 "man the Packers are stacked but those Cowboys are sure a limited team"
Get outta here with this stuff.
What is it with playoff losses? Just the weirdest thoughts get conjured up.

They are done in TC. But all I ever hear any of the coaches say is "we TALKED about it" (whatever "it" is, in this case ball security). The point is they seems to do a lot of talking in meetings about fundamentals and not a lot of practicing fundamentals.

I would be interested in seeing what McCarthy could do with Jordan Love, developmentally. I will just say that.

No, the actual point is you have no idea what goes on at practice or in meetings and have no grounds to assert anything in regard to fumble drills, meeting focus, or lack thereof.

Fair enough. All we have to go by is what they say, since practices during the season are closed. And they never say they actually practice fundamentals, just they TALK about fundamentals.

These are the statements that Trolls later refer to to play the victim card. "I wuz made FUN of when I criticized MLF/Gute!!" Yeah, not because you criticized them, but because what you said in particular was patently ridiculous.

easy to pick stuff apart when things go bad, we became sorta lopsided this season, depending too much on the run, take that away or limit it, and the passing game couldn't pick up the slack, and there are so many reasons for that, Loves injuries, drops and receiver decline, play calling, etc.
the defense showed improvement throughout the season, Hafely's first year vastly exceeded Barry's last, the player additions last spring really paid off.
lot more good than bad here, we'll add more help this offseason, and get another season under the youngsters we have, which should lower the mistakes, yes it's disappointing to lose another po game, but our losses minus Chicago were against veteran teams, that had more bench talent, as they say the best at the end usually are the healthiest teams, we couldn't afford the injuries, our #3 G was a huge decline from Jenkins

My thought exactly. MM did discipline Favre enough to become a real deal in his old days and he single-handily „made“ Rodgers (I am simplifying a bit of course). I wonder what he could do with Love. It is a contrafactual question anyway, MLF won‘t go, but I somehow doubt MLF will ever land the ultimate success. And as bad as it was to waste years with burnt out Mike or grumpy Aaron, as bad it is to waste years with an average coach, just because he is good looking and has some ties to whomever.

As someone who has been told many, many times how good looking I am, I can tell you that the bias runs both ways. There are many women who will overestimate your competence. However, many jealous men will attempt to publicly portray you as incompetent. So I will not fault LaFleur on that front.
I will say that MLF was hired so that he could be submissive to Aaron Rodgers. He was hired to play second fiddle. That doesn't work as a HC. Give Mac credit. He never willingly ceded his power.

is that how it looked to you? I saw a GM that was more than willing to butt heads with Rodgers, in fact, I think he drafted Love with the intent of dumping Rodgers sooner than we did, and Lafleur/Shanahan schemes were the flavor of the NFL in 2018, their success kept Rodgers around, it seemed the same When Ted took over from Mike Sherman, he and most in the building wanted Favre to go away, but it's hard to dump a winning QB for an unknown commodity in the closet

That was the Before Times™ when coaches could actually put their quarterbacks through a full off-season course. Times have changed.

I think MM gets too little credit in Green Bay land since he left. That said, we're not looking for a new HC so no I wouldn't consider it.
