Packers Home Opener
How about starting off with a pre-gauntlet clash with the Panthers? Certainly a winnable game.

I personally think the NFL should do the best they can to make week 1 and week 18 divisional matchups. Come out and put a game on the field that has high stakes right from the get go.

I think division games have so much weight they should be held off a few weeks. A team can get knocked out of winning the division if the first 3 weeks are division games. Let teams get their feet under them, rather than waste games against rivals early, when people will watch anything because they haven't had anything in six months.

two weeks of TC followed by 2 PS games, in which most coaches wont play key starters for fear of injury, the only players to give 100% in those games are bubble players, the rest play timidly fearing injury, so while the goal is to win every game, it doesn't seem to over rule these issues, and it shows in the first few games as we see miscues and chemistry issues we didn't see as much years ago with longer TC and 4 PS games.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025 20:50I personally think the NFL should do the best they can to make week 1 and week 18 divisional matchups. Another thing I want is better spacing of the divisional games against the same opponent. I hate when we play a division rival twice in a 3 or 4 week span.

I'd like to add 8 games, or two months to the season, that way we wouldn't be talking about this mundane trivial stuff

Agreed. I always have been a supporter that Week 1 is AFC vs NFC. I love it when we draw those.Cdragon wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025 08:36I think division games have so much weight they should be held off a few weeks. Every team has the same amount of PS and practices. Who prepared the best? There aren’t any excuses. Week 1 found just as much in the win loss column as week 18.Yoop wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025 08:49two weeks of TC followed by 2 PS games, in which most coaches wont play key starters for fear of injury, the only players to give 100% in those games are bubble players, the rest play timidly fearing injury, so while the goal is to win every game, it doesn't seem to over rule these issues, and it shows in the first few games as we see miscues and chemistry issues we didn't see as much years ago with longer TC and 4 PS games.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025 20:50I personally think the NFL should do the best they can to make week 1 and week 18 divisional matchups. Make these teams earn it. I’d personally love to see first three weeks and last three weeks all divisional games. Adds to the excitement of the start of the season and some drama to the end of it.

The previous years division winner taking out the division in the first 3 games plays directly into the Cakewalk theory. I'm reminded of duh bares playing against 3 new division HCs in MM's first year. 3-0 before anybody knew which side to put the cup on. At least give them a couple games and half a shot to get their stuff together.

He has played on neutral fields twice week 1 but none at home.
Crazy.

I'd like to see a Monday Night Football opener at Lambeau. Don't really care who the opponent would be. The other 2024 playoff teams would likely be off the table leaving behind Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati. Lions, Vikings, Ravens, Redskins and Engles were all playoff teams.
DA BEARS!!!

Why would 2024 playoff teams be off the table??RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑17 Feb 2025 09:26I'd like to see a Monday Night Football opener at Lambeau. Don't really care who the opponent would be. The other 2024 playoff teams would likely be off the table leaving behind Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati.

Just a random thought. No real justification.APB wrote: ↑17 Feb 2025 14:23Why would 2024 playoff teams be off the table??RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑17 Feb 2025 09:26I'd like to see a Monday Night Football opener at Lambeau. Why would the NFL force 2024 playoff teams to start the season on the road unless it's an international hype NFL greed game, ala Engles-Packers in Brazil ?

Rams-Lions
Ravens-Chiefs
Cowboys-Browns
Packers-Eagles(international)
Texans and Steelers were also on the road week 1.

Well it's not our commissioner. It's someone beholden to 32 Billionaires and the NFL Corporation. In reality you only need the marquee Super Bowl winner against some worthy team and a bunch of craptastic games after, since everybody is starved for action. A lot of the other games would be games of the week down the line otherwise.
