Jaire Alexander is traded to the Commanders for a 5th round pick (148). Commanders have the cap space and a need for a better boundary CB.
FA:
Davante Adams WR Jets 2 yrs/$32M
The Packers need a go to WR who can win and be a reliable target. Adams has always been able to get open and is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He has played for two losing teams in a row and want to contend for a title. He additionally gets the opportunity to claim some Packers records along the way.
Paulson Adebo CB Saints 4yrs/$40M
I'm super interested to see how much Adebo is going to make this offseason. If there was a target I think Gutenbumst goes after it's him. Hes still young at 25 years old. Hes got length and incredible ball skills at 6'1. The two things that hurt him is that hes coming off an injury and his grade this past season wasnt that great on a mediocre Saints team that leaves him in man coverage on an island every game. I think he actually fits a zone scheme better where he can use his ball skills. Especially in a cover 3 scheme where he just needs to play the sidelines. Adebo was a guy I wanted coming out of the draft and I think this is a rare occasion where you get a CB that has all the tools coming off a rookie contract courtesy of the Saints poor cap management.

I would think his agent probably pushes for more than this but I would tell Tom to sit his scrawny ass right where he belongs under Wirfs and Sewell but ahead of Lane Johnson who is better than him.

Walter Nolan DT Ole Miss
Admittedly I hated the way this draft fell. I'm not a huge fan of getting a DT this early but its how the board fell to me. Nolan has the potential to be a terrific DT in a 1-gap scheme where hes just allowed to line up as a 3 tech and cause havoc. I really didn't think he had a bad game this season. Hes quick off the ball and disruptive. I see a little Christian Wilkins in his game. If he fails at the pro level its because his coaches couldn't motivate him to be a star.
Round 2:
Azareye'h Thomas CB FSU
This is my favorite CB in the class. Just a long CB with great ball skills and the best press man CB IMO in this class. Hes only 20 years old right now standing at 6'2 and 198 hes super physical and uses his length to his advantage at the LOS and down the sideline. I think he will excel in cover 3 and man schemes where he can be physical. His ball skills are ok. He does well making pass breakups and locating the ball but I think his hands are just ok when it comes to securing the ball for INTs. Hes going to flagged for holding. You just have to accept that with his kind of game but more often than not his disruption and physicality is going to lead to sacks and timing issues for the QB. I see a lot of Nhamdi Asomugha when watching him play. I do believe this is a 1st round talent depending one his combine times.
Round 3a:
Tate Ratledge OG Georgia
IT about time we start getting some size on the offensive line. Ratledge is 6'6 and moves well for his size. He excels as a run blocker specifically in power schemes but his athleticism shines when he pulls or needs to reach the 2nd level. Pad level is an issue becuase of his height at OG. Hes gotta get lower on a consistent basis. Hes gets away with it in college because of his pure strength. Theres a lot to like about his pedigree. Big championship contending school in the SEC and he has experience playing both LG and RG. Right now we lack interior depth as evidenced by the playoffs. This gives the freedom to play Jenkins or Rhyan at C and to play Morgan at OT where he should be playing anyways. I think Ratledge is a day 1 starter at OG if needed.
Round 4:
Antuan Powell-Ryland Edge V-Tech
One of my favorite edges in the draft. I still dont understand why he isnt going in the 2nd or 3rd round. When it comes to pass rusher repotoire I think hes one of the bet in the class. He has a nice rip, a dirty spin move, and he bends well. Hes also got a great get off. There isnt elite length or athleticism but hes a guy who just knows how to beat OTs with technique and skill. IMO he should be a 2nd roun talent but everywhere I look he is going in the 3rd, 4th, 5th round. He is a perfect fit for a team needing a 3rd edge rusher to provide some pass rush juice.
Round 5a:
Danny Stutsman LB Oklahoma
This is just really a fine LB prospect. I dont think you will get anything flashy out of him but he is just a solid good LB. He plays the run very well, can survive in coverage, and will probably be a core STs player. Think McDuffie floor or Blake Martinez ceiling with this player. What seperates him from other top LB prospects is the lack of elite athleticism (I think hes just fine) and instincts. He gts killed on play action, end arounds, and options. Hes definitely a base LB. Still at 6'4 and 240 you dont need to worry about him being run over and killed. He holds up at the point of attack and thats all you really need from a base LB.
Round 5b:
Jack Nelson OL Wisconsin
I would love this pick for the Packers specifically. First it again adds to the size and power of the Packers OL. At 6'6 Nelson is incredibly strong but still moves well. What I think is unique and would really benefit this team is that he has experience at LT, RT, RG, and OC. Hes the type of player that will line up and kick ass in the run game all day. I think his best position ends up being RT but theres something interesting about him as a RG to be as well. I love having Morgan as a swing left side player and Nelson as a swing right side player with the potential to add depth at C.
Round 6:
Ty Robinson DT Nebraska
Another player I really just dont understand why hes falling in player rankings. Hes super experienced at the college level and is a big player at 6'6. Hes a pass rush threat through and through on the interior. At 6'6 his length makes it really hard for interior lineman to get hands on him and he uses that length to disrupt passing lanes. IMO he was the most important part on Nebraskas defense and jumped off the screen as the most disruptive force on the field. He does struggle against the run because of his pad level which makes sense with his size. He needs to bend better and get lower.
Round 7:
Arian Smith WR Georgia
Smith might end up being the fastest player at the combine at the position. He has world class speed. Hes an older prospect that doesnt have a long history of playing football. Hes a track guy with a slender frame. What keeps him in the 200s on almost every site Ive seen is he doesnt have a good release and he gets thrown around by DBs when jammed. He also doesnt have a detailed route tree becaue Georgia just send him deep every play on goes and posts. Still the speed is what this team can use and I think he actually tracks the ball very well despite his lack of experience or opportunities. He would thrive as a gunner if he gets a little stronger or as a kick returner.
