Apparently the Packers sure aren't waiting to honor retiring team president Mark Murphy.

According to a tweet/X from Aaron Nagger, Murphy's statue will be revealed on the first day of the draft. He won't join Lombardi and Curly at the main plaza (whew!), rather the bronze statue will be placed on a corner near the Atrium entrance.

I personally think this is WAY too early, even if he's the only person to earn a Super Bowl ring as a player and as a team's chief executive. One SB doesn't a statue earn... What do y'all think?

Definitely weird. Give Murphy a Plaza just like we have the Bob Harlan Plaza.

In my eyes Murphy is a step below Harlan but does deserve recognition.

Absolutely brilliant. 100% deserved. The statute is so on point, couldn't be more on point.

I love it. It's the perfect day to announce such a glorious tribute, as well.

Focus on putting Holmie and Jack Vainisi and Verne Lewellen in the Hall of Fame first and foremost. Gillingham too!

the job requires some political savoy, Harland had it, just like Murphy does, however Murphy is a football guy first, and politician second, and deserves recognition, as do Vainisi and Lewellen, I doubt Holmgren will ever get in, the way he left will harbor bad feelings forever

Man, I read MAD magazines a lot when I was a kid, and they came to Finland before the movies they parodied. So they spoiled so many American movies for me.

Never thought I'd ever get my small revenge. But I did now, and it was sweet... Thanks for playing along!

I thought the joke was going to be centered on, "get a statue." Maybe he'd grab Vince and set it in his back yard.
