I have not been on here but a few times since last season---so are we going to have NFL or does anybody know at this point?

Ya, that sucks.
I don't believe it is a big blow to the NFL season, but it is a blow to next off-season. The biggest blow right now is the MLB. They aren't following the rules they set up and are experiencing too many outbreaks. If the NFL can learn from that it should be ok.

More conferences are sure to follow now. For college it’s different. At least in the NFL you have more mature people working around less people. Those players need to still go to class. Not to mention it’s hard to get a bunch of young single people to not go out and party and pound out hoes.
The NFL will be fine at first but I do expect the same thing to happen to it as the MLB. You can’t have a bubble with fields being torn up the way football will. So you’re traveling. Players are in close contact. Rosters are massive compared to other pro sports.
I think there will be an attempt to have a season and ultimately it will backfire but that’s just my opinion.

In all seriousness, this blows. PAC12 is done too, so that is 2 of the power 5. All the studs will NOT play in Spring if they move it there, they will opt out for the combine/draft. The NFL cannot and will not move their entire season in 2021 because NCAA cancelled this year.

C'mon golf isn't that bad at all! Especially the bigger tourneys!
It's my go to on Sunday's/last rounds. Drink and smoke meat all day, watching.

Yeah this upcoming draft class is going to be horrible. I doubt we see a lot of underclassman declare unless they were already in line for that top pick. It will be a very underwhelming class of seniors. I wouldnt be shocked to see a lot of them qualify for another year of eligibility as well.Packfntk wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020 16:59We are ready for that too!pack power wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020 14:44I sure hope the NFL season isn't cancelled. One thing that’s being forgotten is college “kids” are adults. Students on campus and players are all old enough to go to war. They aren’t high schoolers who are either going to be forced to go to a building by law, or forced to take courses at homes. Every student on campus has chosen to go on their own free will.
I wish they could just make it simple and let the athletes who don’t want to play...sit out and still keep their scholarship. The adults who do want to play should sign saying they won’t sue...and go play.
To me it’s not like they don’t want to, and someone is forcing them to play for money...i hear most of them want to play. So let them. And let the ones that don’t...sit out at no penalty.
Guess that makes too much sense.

Barry Alvarez wants football season ticket holders to donate the money to the athletic dept. instead of asking for a 4efund or applying the money to next season.

College kids are legally adults but if you think they’re going to just stay in their rooms and social distance you’re wrong. These are young men that are in a position of power, that being popularity and of status on campus. They’re going to party and hook up with girls and that’s just the nature of any college across the country. Next thing you know it spreads throughout the team who still go to class now it’s spreading across campus. You can’t tell some late teens early 20s kids to abide by the social distancing rules and expect them all to do it.Drj820 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020 19:57One thing that’s being forgotten is college “kids” are adults. Not really following your point. Its not just football players that party and hook up. They and anyone else on campus can do that at anytime. im saying people above them that will not be stepping on the field are making the decision for them on whether they can play or not. Why not let the people that will actually be at risk make their own decision. Teams have been working out and getting ready all summer, i bet being with the team and getting tested regularly like they are is safer than being in the general population on campus.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑12 Aug 2020 17:01College kids are legally adults but if you think they’re going to just stay in their rooms and social distance you’re wrong. God forbid they ASK the season ticket holders to donate their season ticket money to the department to help offset revenue losses...

Ask and you get, don't and you won't. The UW Football program is not printing money, so any money people donate will be helpful.

True, but this is unprecedented. What dignified school would ever explicitly ask for money?

Colleges do it all the time. From Harvard to Stanford, schools are continually hitting up their successful alumni for donations and contributions for...whatever. A new science program? Call an alumni who wants his name in the local news. Need a new building? See who wants their name forever memorialized.

In these times when half a million Wisconsinites lost their jobs, a guy making millions $$$ said his preference is for ticket holders to donate their ticket money. And while pissing off half the state by changing the Wisconson crest to black to show how woke they are.
He must think their only fans are state employees in Madison who got to sit home and do nothing and still get paid, while unemployment claims were backlogged 3 months.
It is bad optics and tone deaf. Barry should know better.
