I think it's for the best. Hopefully Matt hits on the hire.
So far this is the only report. I got duped on a fake one the other day. This doesn't appear fake, but not one of the usual sources/reporters.

Probably just because it's still super fresh. We will likely hear more shortly. Didn't MLF has his presser today?
He was scheduled to go today so the fact it hasn't happened probably means there is juice behind this rumor.
Seems like Packers nation has moved into position to be ready for it.
Read More. Post Less.

Going to take a stab at the replacement. He stays in house, Mike Smith.

This news makes me cautiously hopeful.
If COVID eliminates the off-season program, I'll be nervous. Installing a new defense via Zoom just doesn't inspire a whole lotta confidence. I suppose my excitement will all hinge on who the replacement is and how the lockdowns are shaping up come July.

Not sure how to feel about that.
Defense
9th overall in YPG
7th overall in Passing YPG
13th overall in Rushing YPG
12th overall in PPG
Yes, poor playoff game for a half, but man.

Wisconsin Cheese Is Better Than California Cheese!
Something tells me Pettine wanted out too. There's a reason he didn't sign an extension last year. Maybe wasn't a great fit between him and LaFleur.

Some guys on my DC radar:
In-house: Jerry Gray
Outside: Chris Hewitt, Marquand Manuel, Eric Washington, Larry Foote
Big Names: Kris Richard, Wade Phillips, Rex Ryan
It's a bit too early for me to like Jim Leonard (no pro DC experience) and Tyrone McKenzie, but those two do intrigue me a bit.
Brett Kollman just floated Ejiro Evero on Twitter, who has been a Fangio and Staley understudy, currently LAR Safeties coach.

Cover 1.
He deserves to be gone. Bad choices have consequences.
Amos should have called timeout and asked Pettine WTF he was thinking.

Regardless of what I thought of Pettine.
I'm a bit surprised we actually moved on.
Cautiously optimistic fan right now. Here's to hoping LaFleur is allowed to bring in his own guy.

Yeah, like I said, little surprised we actually did it more than anything.
When was the last time we let a D coordinator go, when the defense wasn't absolute and utter dog &%$@? Donatell?

Nope!
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
The Lions just hired Capers as a senior defensive assistant. And I'm not even joking. Even if I'm laughing.
