2021 NFL Draft - Day 2 Discussion - NO SPOILERS
Gute seemed to hint yesterday they are definitely comfortable trading up yesterday with all the picks they have.
Could get into the 40’s with our 2 and 3, low 50’s maybe 2 and 4, or just stand pat.
Few guys I’d have in mind for some trades up.
I like Barmore still, quite a few OL guys there.
If some WRs start slipping I could see moving to about 50.
I’d like Josh Palmer at our pick if we stand still.

Tons of good players; my favorite day of the draft. Wish we had more than 2 picks honestly. Just excited to get some names in here.
Today is the day that I think hurts the most. So many names we like go off the board. WR, OL, DL, maybe ILB today. But some needed position group is going to have to wait for tomorrow. I could name some names but
RIP JustJeff
But I would also LOVE to double up and get Samuel today too.

IDK, the Vikings picked up 3 picks in the top 86 and only gave up 1. I think they came out way ahead on that deal.
They also could have got the player they were going to take anyway. Darrisaw was pretty good value there, IMO, so I think they did fine. The Bears, OTOH, paid big as everyone knew they would.

Yeah, so hopeful at the moment, but as soon as the picks start up, these names start flying off the board. A high 2nd-round pick is pure gold.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 08:32Tons of good players; my favorite day of the draft. Wish we had more than 2 picks honestly. Yeah, hate to admit it, but the Vikings did pretty good last year and are off to a what looks like a good start this draft.NCF wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 08:58They also could have got the player they were going to take anyway. Agreed. There's only one WR left that I'm in love with and we won't get him. So then I'm wracking my brain, ya know, can we get more picks? Should we package picks to move up as far as we can? Are we going to take Quentin Meinerz to appease Rodgers?NCF wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 09:01Yeah, so hopeful at the moment, but as soon as the picks start up, these names start flying off the board. You gotta think, if the Packers are going to make a deal in the draft, it's going to be today.NCF wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 09:01Yeah, so hopeful at the moment, but as soon as the picks start up, these names start flying off the board. Vikings/Jets trade was 30 points in favor of the Jets on the Rich Hill chart. So about another high 4th round value. So they paid a bit much, but overall fairly close.
Bears/Giants trade was 51 points in favor of the Giants, equal to mid-3rd. I valued the future picks as #16 in the round behind what they traded. With a big trade up, I don't think this is too unusual.
So I wouldn't call either a fleece, but I do think both overpaid.
RIP JustJeff

If Elijah Moore doesn't go 34th to the Jets (and I think he will) then he likely won't go until at the earliest, the Lions pick (and I think they'd likely want him, too)
You could package 2nd, 3rd, and a 4th to move up to the Broncos spot to get the last WR before a major tier division.
OR you could stand pat and take whatever in the second (OT, DL, LB, CB2) and grab an Eskridge at the back end of round 3 for that dynamic slot type.
I sense the team is more likely to take the Nico Collins and Semi Fehekos of the world, though, once Elijah Moore is off the board.
I do really like some guys, like Dyami Brown and to a lesser extent, EQ's little brother; and Josh Palmer, but a round or two later than BF wants him. I'm not tiny slot or bust here. But Moore is the clear standout of the remaining pass catchers.

If the Vikings weren't competing with the Bears to trade with New York to draft Fields than the Vikings are morons. I'm pretty sure MN helped drive up Chicago's cost.NCF wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 08:58They also could have got the player they were going to take anyway. I like Moore, I really do, but I don't want to give up that much for a guy until 5' 10". I would have been Ok using our first pick on him, but 3 picks, I am not as comfortable with that. I would love him on this team though.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 09:11If Elijah Moore doesn't go 34th to the Jets (and I think he will) then he likely won't go until at the earliest, the Lions pick (and I think they'd likely want him, too)

I think that's how I feel, too. I HATE 3 for 1 trades in our direction. Even when it's relatively benign for a player I like, such as the Savage trade with two 4s. But I'm just brainstorming different ways things might go and how I'd feel about them through hypotheticals

I $%@# HATE that all the analysis and talk starts with a minute of how we didn't get a 1st round receiver and/or the Rodgers talk. So regodamndiculous!

So for decades I had to hear that the Packers couldn't give Rodgers a defense to win it all. What a disservice.
So now when we are trying to give Rodgers a defense it is a major disservice we don't give him a weapon when the team was the #1 offense in 2020.
Do they know how stupid that sounds?

It's even more $%@# stupid than that! He has the games beat receiver, the games beat left tackle, a guard who may now be top 3, a TE who led the league in YD receptions, and a RB who is probably top 5. $%@#! Just stop!!go pak go wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021 09:28So for decades I had to hear that the Packers couldn't give Rodgers a defense to win it all. What a disservice.
