Played in Arizona last year.
27 years old
6-3 or 6-4, 232lbs
70 games started
3 INTs
19 PDs
6 FFs
1 FR
7.5 sacks
462 combined tackles
303 solo tackles
25 TFL
13 QB hits
I read he was all over the field, covers a lot of ground. Solid in run and coverage game.
Ran 4.58 during his combine. 16 bench, 34 vertical. Sounds like he had the athleticism but not the LB instincts. But he's been productive since being in the NFL.

Ooohhh, I like it. In time for OTA's too hopefully.
Kind of a sneaky big signing, as much as we kind of like Barnes and Martin or even Summer, that's just kind of a lot of nothing and hype, we've been there all too often in the past.
Struggling to find a weak spot on the D right now. Outside of like DL #2 or #3, not really seeing one. Wanna see Jaire and ZaDarius both competing for DPOY down the stretch.
New DC in there, LaFleur has given us zero reason not to trust his judgement at this point.

sounds like Barry isn't as convinced as some of us that Barnes is the answer at ILB, or that he still needs more coaching, good move imo.

Or that Martin/Summers aren't the answer next to Barnes. Certainly doesn't hurt to add talent to a group of such uncertainty.
And the fact that group has dealt with a lot of injuries. I'm curious on the money, but guessing its not a lot at this point. Gutey said he was looking at veteran ILB. He always does what he says.

my hopes too, if we want to use more two ILB sets then both have to be able to keep a safety on the bench,

He had a good year or two and then somehow stopped improving and started looking lost a lot. I remember those videos trashing him. He is by no means any sort of panacea. I stopped even thinking about him when we drafted Martin from the same school with similar size and length and all. But I really liked him on numerous occasions.
I'm not even sure he'll make the team, but I am excited to have an old favorite in the fold. I think he can do some coverage/edge hybrid stuff that we don't really have on the team. I don't see him as a pure ILB or a referendum on our ILB room (though the team said openly they wanted to add a veteran).
I see him as a guy who can play the "EDGE" when our bigger edges move inside to be interior rushers and we have to have the appearance of two edges outside of them who can either rush or drop into coverage.
