Rank the Roster 2021: #20

Rank The Roster: 2021 Edition

1. Aaron Rodgers (65%)[--]
2. Davante Adams (65%)[+2]
3. Jaire Alexander (59%)[+4]
4. David Bakhtiari (83%)[+1]
5. Kenny Clark (40%)[+1]
6. Za'Darius Smith (45%)[-4]
7. Aaron Jones (57%)[-4]
8. Elgton Jenkins (65%)[+1]
9. Adrian Amos (48%)[+2]
10. Rashan Gary (48%)[+7]

17. Krys Barnes (42%)[+26]
18. Kevin King (40%)[-8]
19. Josh Myers(39%)[R]
20. Current (xx%)[--]

Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2020 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

If Bortles is the QB no receiver is going to look very good.

I continue to vote for the only competent QB that will be on the roster in September. Jordan Love.

I went Stokes here. Higher upside than King. I’m pretty sure he beats him out by week 6 at the latest but my money would be straight out of camp he’s an outside starter.

I think Bortles should be on the list ... Potentially our starting QB.

I went Stokes.

Early OTA and Minicamp reps make it pretty clear it's either Rodgers or Love, for better or worse.

As yoho would say take nothing from these minicamps and if we did Bortles would be the starter as the currently the best performing QB ... In those sessions

But not literally take nothing. The reps at QB tell a pretty big story. Now, if Bortles reps start proportionally increasing closer to 50-50, then I think we have a case. Right now, he is QB3 and a guy in the QB room. Not a part of the equation. At least, that's how I view what has happened thus far.

Big Mean Dean again.

Want to vote Keke, just don’t trust his availability.

I initially went with Dean, but switched to Keke. Dean is serviceable, but seems to have hit his ceiling. I'm hoping Keke keeps improving.

What about Runyan?

Most think he has a pretty high ceiling. I think he's the current favorite to start at RG.

That combination belongs on the same tier as Stokes to me, who has a much tougher path to significant playing time.

Patrick has been getting the most 1st team reps so far. But I agree and still think Patrick may end up being a "surprise" cut. Newman getting reps there too.

I'm still voting Lazard, as I have been for the last few.

I doubt if Patrick gets cut and I expect him to be the first backup for both guard and the center positions. IMO Runyan starts at either guard or less likely at RT.

But I don't understand how people can be voting for Stokes or any other rookie or 2nd year man when our 2nd year starting QB is still on the board. And every day it looks more and more likely that he will start in September.

He hasn't been on the 1st or 2nd team lines as far as I can tell.

It seems the fan base is much higher on Runyan do to the name?

Pretty sure he's been on all the 2nd team lines and has gotten some 1st team as well with Elgton missing.

He's been with the 1's the whole time at LG, I think, but likely because Jenkins kicked out to LT in the first practices and has missed time since.

Because no one thinks, besides you, that he's actually better than any of the other players that have been picked. It's ranking the roster. Just because he might be QB1 this year, doesn't mean he's the best player on the team. I hope he is, but he hasn't shown jack squat yet to make me vote for him yet.
