No idea. Andy’s look here gives it a little push though, so thought worthy of posting.

Andy’s eyes mean little to me. But cool report.

ESPN reporting it. Let's hope it comes soon.

Adams himself said they've started talking. So not really news until they say something is imminent. I hope it does happen.

I wonder if this means anything in regards to Aaron Rodgers' status.

I go back and forth and this. I REALLY want Adams with us for the next 4 seasons plus because he is a technician and the best WR I have seen consistently in my life. He is the best WR I have ever seen play in a Packers uniform (it used to be Jordy...I'm too young for Sharpe).
OTOH, Adams is at his peak value right now and it'd be a tall task to ask that he perform at the level he performed in 2020. I bought a lot of stocks I regret at the height of the small cap frenzy in February and I hope that doesn't happen to the Packers.
That being said, I think he will be great for Love or Rodgers these next few seasons. Might mean we may need to go young again and not resign MVS if he has a big season but it does bring stability into the WR room.
It also tells me the Packers aren't falling from humanity like some have suggested after all.

Your third paragraph, that's exactly why I wanted him. I think if Love indeed takes over either this year or next year, he'd look a lot better with Adams than without him. I'm a huge believer that QB success in the NFL is a combination of skill and opportunity (good coaching, good situation/timing, good talent around you). Having Jones and Adams (and stud O-Linemen) will surely help him along.

Recall how Sterling Sharpe helped both Majik and Favre succeed.

I struggle with making him the highest paid WR just because DeAndre Hopkins' 2-year extension at $27M/year is absurd and the next-highest guy is at $22M/year.
If Adams is in at $23M/year in new money/new years in a way that keeps his cap hit low for 2021 and 2022 and lets us grow into an expanding cap in the out years, I'm good. But otherwise, it might be a tough sticking point.
I mean, how many guys on a team can make an average of $20M+/year? We already have Kenny Clark, David Bakhtiari, and Rodgers. We're going to add Davante Adams and Jaire Alexander to that; by the time we extend Jenkins, he'll be close, too. That's tough. But if the cap grows in 2023 and 2024 the way it should be expected to with the new TV deal, we can pull it off.
One thing is clear, we will be in MUCH better financial shape if Rodgers is not on the team beyond 2021. On the field? Tough to know.

Adams has tremendous leverage over the Packers. There is no WR1 potential waiting in the wings. Without Adams, this is the leagues worst WR Corp by miles in the league.

one of several reasons why I wanted to draft a WR instead of a QB, it's easier to find a Devonte Adams then it is to find a Aaron Rodgers.
and people want Rodgers to take a home town discount, but now where going to make Adams the richest receiver in the league.
I don't see Adams signing with us if Rodgers will only be here one season, so if he does sign a extension then I'am more hopeful that the FO came to there senses and will keep Rodgers till the end of his contract.

I was originally like "YES!!" but he's going to be 29 at the end of the year. He'll be 33 by the end of a four-year extension. Slot receivers do age pretty well and that's pretty much his game, so it's not crazy to think he will yield a solid return on that deal.
But I would be unwilling to pay upper-echelon WR money for that. If he caught that TD, maybe, but alas, I think I rather invest in MVS -- especially paired with Love's arm. You would regret not having a guy like Adams around for Love when he makes life easy for QBs, but MVS-Rodgers-Tonyan is not a bad set of targets: you have a tall receiver with loads of upside entering his prime plus the perfect "safety blanket" targets of a crafty slot receiver and a big, athletic TE. Decent chance we lose a guy like Tonyan if Adams gets paidt, too.

That may be true but Jones is the best receiving RB in the league and Tonyan is a top 5 TE. If Rodgers were to become a top 5 slot receiver or if Sternberger were to become what many expected him to be, the Packers would be just fine.
But worst WR Corp for what? For a pass first O that lives and dies from the 20+ yard passes? The MM offense? If that is to be the O, then I agree with you. But I think that MLF is too smart to do that.

I am not convinced Tonyan is a top 5 TE after a year where Rodgers force fed him the ball for TDs all year, but let’s say he is..you expect that we can afford to keep him?

If he's looking for highest paid, going to be north of 25 per. Might want to beat Hopkins 27.5.

Yeah I just don't think it makes sense to sign Adams if we know Rodgers will be with the Packers beyond 2021.
We would have to cut a LOT of players to make that happen.
