Suppose if everyone else is doing one this week, I'll just off the bridge too.

A BF Mock v.003

It is imperative you turn on your volume and listen to this while going through my mock.

And we're off

****Packers trade back from 30 to the 14th pick in the 2nd and 3rd while also giving back a 6th

Round 2 - Pick 14
Neville Gallimore - IDL - Oklahoma 6'2" 305

Doesn't quite have the length and size seems like we've been targetting, but this guy is disruptive, gets up field quick, plays stronger than his size and has a great motor

Round 2 - Pick 30
Prince Tega Wanogho - OT - Auburn - 6'7 320

Big Boy and long, experience at left and right tackle, think he looks like a great ZBS RT in my book. Light feet, but not LT nimble, and has some drive. Seems like an awesome dude in the locker room.

Round 3 - Pick 14
Tyler Johnson - WR - Minnesota 6'2" 205

One of my early favorites for WR in this class, smooth, deceptive route runner, gets after the ball well, clean catcher. Doesn't seem to have elite traits that will ever put him in top 10 category, but I think his floor is incredibly high

Round 3 - Pick 20
Bryan Edwards - WR - South Carolina 6'3" 209

Seeing guys like this still floating around in the third round blows my mind, such a crazy talented WR class. Might have the best hands of anyone in this draft. If you are GB and you have a solid WR target from South Carolina, take him. Just trade him away before he gets his career ending injury around 28/29.

Round 4 Pick 30
Joe Bachie - ILB - Michagain State - 6'2" 232

Potential for a bit of a steal here, was suspended in 2019 for the remainder of the 2019 season for PEDs. Claims it wasn't intentional, took something over the counter and didn't check what was in it. Late 1st early 2nd round talent, IMO.

Round 5 Pick 30
Kamren Curl - CB - Arkansas 6'1" 205

Seems to be around the ball a lot and I like his size.

And I ran out of steam

Trade our remaining picks to Minnesota for their next few 1st rounders.

Joe Bachie
CONS: Wildly disappointing in terms of athletic ability and in coverage. Zone awareness is sorely lacking: spot drops without acknowledgement of route distribution and QB vision/set points, and regularly allows for MoF throwing windows. Simply does not relate to what is going on around him and has no sense of what is going on behind him. Lack of athletic ability leaves him exposed in boundary runs or when working against play action: lacks transitional quickness, explosiveness into the gap, or long-speed to influence runs sideline to sideline. Disappointingly hit-or-miss as a tackler despite gaudy numbers — will attack ball/look for a big hit instead of dropping hips, wrapping and driving, and gives up yards after contact accordingly. NFL role is capped by lack of coverage skill.
CONS: The passing game isn't his strength, but he's sufficient enough in this regard. When playing in sub he may struggle in coverage against quicker and more athletic RBs in space. Although he demonstrates the length and hand strength to play in an odd front, he needs to stack and shed better to be considered to have true schematic versatility. This will help him to disengage more effectively and more consistently.
Coverage Skills - Modest. He's made quite a few plays on the ball courtesy of right place, right time and instinct to shade his zones towards MOF targets but he's not a turn and run candidate to man up on TEs. Viable intermediate defender in zone coverage on early downs.

Flexibility - He doesn't illustrate a great deal of dynamic range of motion in his hips or in his lower half, which is key variable in accounting for modest change of direction skills and ability to mirror ball carriers in space. He wins leverage in tight quarters/linear situations with hip hinge.
Summary - Joe Bachie projects as a primary run defender at the NFL level. His physicality in between the tackles brings value to a defense and his intelligence and discipline in his reads will put him in a position to shoot gaps and challenge the LOS. He's not ideally a candidate to play all 3 downs and would be best served to be substituted in sub-packages to boost range and ability to play man coverage in passing downs. Bachie is a base defense starting caliber player as a MIKE linebacker.
He will struggle with man coverage but plays passing lanes from zone effectively. His technique and play recognition will stand out for defensive coaches, but it might not matter if his speed and athletic testing don't check out.
Weaknesses

Suspended in second half of 2019 season due to positive PED test
Slow-twitch prospect lacking burst to close
Misses out on perimeter tackles due to range issues
Tightly bound with limited length
Below average reactive athleticism
Change of direction is heavy and ineffective
Can be targeted by opponents if asked to cover man

I'm sorry. I just. Everything I read about Joe Bachie is the exact opposite of what we want from ILB.

I have heard Gillmore is better suited in an even man front though his motor is awesome. I think we would benefit more from a potential two-gapper. I like the WRs but I would be honest. I would like more speed.

I personally wouldn't be giddy over this draft. I would rather draft at 30. I do like the Auburn tackle a lot.

However. It is absolutely amazing how much of a difference that music makes in the overall experience.

Agree with probably all of that go pak go

Doubt Gallimore is an idea fit, but he’s just good.

Agree on the WRs, love both, but neither gunna scare you deep.

And Bachie, ewww....

And yes, the sound gets me excited scrolling through, lol.

Why did you select Karmen Curl? I really never see anything on him but would like to.

Just scrolling through the 120-160 range of prospects and he first stood out just on size, glanced over a bunch of 5’9” corners, IOLs, edges and safeties, but checked him out. First 4-5 plays of his highlight real looked good to me.

I hate Tyler Johnson. I just don't think he's a guy in the league, unless you count being "just" a guy. Edwards helps; isn't there some big knock on him? Is it injuries? Character? I've read a lot of good stuff about him, I just can't remeber what the big "but" was.

Really like trading back and addressing the DL and OT. I'm a bit less concerned about the Gallimore fit; he's plenty good enough for whatever scheme, though I agree that a potential 2-gapper would be nice. I'm still counting on grabbing Snacks Harrison out of considering retirement, so we can get by.

Most of the later names are guys I don't know and will enjoy looking into later.

This is the best mock ever! The music got me going. So either it's the best draft, or I'm stuck at my desk and needed some relief, wanting to go out and run some sprints!
