So jacked. This defense is good. Need to see Mertz take that step.

Mertz is not good. Dude is lost and PC is trying to protect him with vanilla play-calling. Yawn. Same old same

I thought he was the future after the start of last season but yeah he looks like garbagio.

This defense has been cooked the whole 2nd half as well.

Going nowhere with Mertz as the QB.

The O is boring and painful to watch. I hate to say it but its true. D did enough to win but the big plays reoccurring issue

Just need qb play that's not a liability is that too much to ask

That was one of the worst college QB performances I have ever seen.

They need to find an athletic QB and change their offense. Unless you have a competent QB it isnt wort playing a pro style offense. Hornibrook wasnt that guy and Mertz certainly isnt either. Mertz is BAD bad. 2 grounding penalties. Tripped up his back a few times not knowing how to handoff. No accuracy on seams or awareness. Just horrible.

Penn State's defense was impressive. I wouldn't blame the Badger QB too much yet.

I do, he is making the same mistakes he did last year and his accuracy is putrid.

What is the root cause of the university's inability to field a QB with no major faults in 2021?

I do not watch college football. The few times I tune in it just feels like I'm watching amateurs (which I am, of course compared to the NFL). But I tuned into a little of the Badger game. That offense was awful. There was 1 legit good play I noticed and that was a stretched out grab by Davis inside the 5 for a 1st. Of course, they squandered that like they did everything else in the game. It was painful to watch. Didn't make me want to watch more. Can Mertz (or any other Wisconsin QB in history) throw a ball with any sort of zip? I know I'm spoiled watching guys like Rodgers. But not sure why you would want to watch anything else.

At least the Jump Around met expectations.

In WI I only attended MSOE, so I probably should put down the microphone. Enjoy watching Badgers football and basketball regardless.

NIU Huskies are supposed to be my college team. Beating #21 Alabama in 2003 in Tuscaloosa was big.
:aok:

Making it to the Orange Bowl (BCS bid) versus Florida State was big as well!

:beer2:

Better programs poaching better QBs and the Badgers have gone after pocket passers with not much athleticism. Wilson had that but hes the only one. I think its time they changed their offense and tried to find something dual threat like. It doesnt help they cant land any good receivers either. The program has lived and died on a strong OL, good RB, and stellar defense. Saturday that defense got torched down field and the QB struggled anding the ball off on several occasions.

Another Penn State win over a ranked opponent (they beat Auburn this time).

Notre Dame is 10 - 0 - 2 at Soldier Field. The Badgers are favored by 6.

Really? This is surprising to me.

It will interesting to see how Jack Coan performs against his old school.
