Thought he would be a good player prior to being drafted. Maybe the injury just took too much out of him.

Not a surprise after the healthy scratch. Didn't catch on quick and wasn't good in the opportunities given.

Feel bad for him, but do not blame Gutey for the swing and miss. Happy that Gutey swung.

He looked clueless out there. Kinda surprised we gave up this fast.

I am pretty surprised. Sometimes it's hard to admit that a guy's skill could have deteriorated that much, but apparently that is what has happened.

Could we be opening up a roster spot for a new player to join our team within the next few hours?

I think we needed the spot for guys like MVS, Lazard and others coming back. Will have to make more moves if we look to add anyone.

I'd like to think Gutey at least tried to swindle the Texans for picks and/or a player one last time using Smith as the bait, but even Houston may not be inept enough to try and make Jaylon Smith happen.

Basically just a more hyped-up and expensive (yet somehow worse) version of Oren Burks. I rather give snaps to McDuffie.

I wonder if he'll take out a full page in the paper thanking the city of Green Bay.

As I saw a few say on Twitter, the Packers are playing too well and don't have the roster spots to carry someone like Jaylon on the roster. He may need more time with the system and to get back in better shape. Wouldn't surprise me to see him come back next offseason if he's still available and see what happens.

But for now, Burks and Barnes are playing well enough and we need the roster spots for other players.

This is where I struggle... Barnes hasn't been playing particularly well, at all. Hopefully that corrects course quickly.

Totally agree. This is just compared to Jaylon. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they bring in a different ILB.

Like I said in another thread, ILB could be a target trade deadline acquisition.

So much for the upgrade over Summers...

Jaylon actually was in position a few times to make plays.

He just didn't make the plays.

I am very surprised by this move though.

Yeah, honestly, I'm probably the biggest Ty Summers supporter on the board, which isn't much, but it counts....

and I have a tough time imagining things with Jaylon were so bad that we wouldn't want to see if he improves with more than 2 weeks to learn a playbook and instead stuck with Summers. I know, I know, STs.... but like. Huh

I mean this is all about who our #4 ILB is, so who cares, but it does seem very strange.
