Amari Rodgers

This guy is on the team to be a returner and a receiver and has demonstrated time and time again that he can’t catch a football in either scenario. Yes that 4th quarter pass was tipped but he should have caught it. I hope not to see him on the field EVER in the postseason.

He's had a bad rookie year, no doubt. Probably shouldn't and won't (barring injuries) see the field much in the playoffs. He can still be a good player though.

Yes, but given he missed this week, I doubt they put him back out there to open the playoffs. Unfortunately, I bet they ride and die with Amari.

hmm...not sure i agree with that. I think two weeks of practice and he can fit back there fine as long as he comes back to practice in short order. We shall see though.

Amari is slow, physically and mentally. Unless he has had some sort of nagging leg injury that has robbed him of his speed, I don't see how he can make the team next season.

I think Amari is fast enough to be serviceable. I'm most disappointed in his hands, which is a bad thing to say about a WR.

I think his speed and hands are both serviceable. It’s his vision that sucks. That, and I’m not terribly impressed with his route running/ability to separate. Everything is contested/hard with him. I suppose that’s fixable and I’m not willing to write him off just yet but, egads, he’s had a rough rookie season.

People forget how bad Davante was in his sophomore season. Davante was historically bad, literally. And now look at him.
Difference of course is that Davante's athletic talent was always off the charts, and I don't think Amari Rodgers has the same pedigree.
But I'm not going to put too much stock into rookie campaigns for WRs. It's fairly rare that rookie WRs impress much, although it has been happening more often, recently.

I honestly think he shouldnt make the game day roster for the playoffs moore replaces him with Cobb or anyone fair catching punts if need be.
He had an awful year. Not ready to close the book but he needs a major off season both mentally and physically

Serviceable is not what they hoped for drafting him. No where to go but up after a rough rookie season.

It's weird - I'm usually in the corner of every draft pick until they're proven to be busts, but I've just never seen "it" with Amari. The first time I looked at his tape, I was like "he's supposed to be a quick slot guy, but he's not quick at all
". Sometimes small but a bit heavy guys can be bowling balls, but Amari is running over nobody
. On top of that, the suspect hands and indeciciveness.
I can't see a way for him to improve enough to become a mainstay on the roster. MAYBE if he loses a bit of weight + becomes decisive with an off-season, maybe those could make him start winning reps in the slot. Maybe he can learn last years' Ervin role with an off-season. I hope he proves me wrong.

He doesn't look like an nfl athlete.
I am looking at his pro day results now - 4.52 40, 1.65 10 yard split
Allen Lazard had a 4.55 40 and 1.58 split at the combine, which doesnt have favorable times like pro days. Amari's actual times would be much worse.
1.65 split for a slot receiver sounds bad but maybe I am off.

I think thats a big mistake, Moore is more seasoned and looks much more comfortable then Amari ever has, the kid acts dumber then a box of rocks, same with Drayton, no way Amari should have ever taken that last kick off out, that cost a bunch of time and didn't make it out to the 20, that was dumb.
Amari has to improve leaps and bounds or he wont make it past next years PS games, he looks like a bust.

Amari has a pedigree more similar to James Jones. And Jones had a very rough start, with LOTS of dropped passes. He had so many drops that pundits, including many in this forum, would joke about how his thumbs were out or in. Somebody even repeated a note about that just the other day.
From the start, I've been worried about Amari's hands. They are just BAD at this point. I hope that there's NO WAY that MLF keeps this kid in PR duties in January. But I'm happy to see what he can do next year, after loads of training with Cobb and another TC.

Agreed.
I was so excited to see him because Andy Herman kept raving about him in practice.
Family Night was his first action and I don't think I have ever been more underwhelmed by a player. Maybe Brian Brohm.
The game is too big for him. He makes poor decisions. He isn't fast. He isn't quick. He has poor hands. He never breaks tackles.

Guty had to take a receiver or the pundents would have roasted him, Rodgers took one look at the turtle and said to Guty bring Cobb back or I'am going to sit out the first 3 games
If Amari ran 4.52 at his PD his actual time is probably close to 4.6, he looks even slower then that, it's a two fold issue, he's not only slow afoot, he's not a quick thinker either, either that or Drayton told him to run that kick out, that was insanely ignorant, I hope we don't even suit him up for the playoffs, dummy's like him do $%&# type stuff.
wont even allow the name B o s t i c k printed here, 6 years and we still have a filter on that name

That was JustJeff's doing (carried over from the old forum) and it still cracks me up to this day...
