Will They Be A Packer?
Already discussing all this ad nauseum, but thought it might be fun to see how the forum thinks in general who will be back. Discussion getting a little stale, so looking to keep something going to spark some conversation.
Vote for everyone you think will be wearing green and gold next year.

I'm still going super-light and long-term view.
Lazard, Campbell, Douglas, & Amos.
Keep the D largely together. Rebuild the EDGE room. Start over on offense.

Clark, 67 pass rush pressures
Lowery, 42 pressures
Preston Smith 62 pressures
Gary, 2nd in the league edge rusher with 81 pressures
thats 252 pressures from our main 4 rushers, I'd find a way to keep them, there pass rush contributed to solid pass coverage

I'm leaning toward Lazard and MVS sticking around, along with Preston and Amos.
I think 1 of Campbell or Douglas could be back, but I didn't vote for either for now. Tonyan is on the edge too.
Of course, much of the list hedges on if Rodgers returns.

I think they have something in Slaton. At least as a rotational guy. Wouldn't hate spending a premium pick on this group, but I have big expectations for Slaton going forward.

Early surprise for me, based on current voting, is MVS. I am like 95% sure he is long gone. Just don't see the money working in our favor versus greener pastures.
I think Tonyan coming back is far more likely, but still not as likely as Mercedes Lewis. Current voting has these three in the exact opposite order of what think their likelihoods of returning are.

I think Slayton had a great rookie campaign too.

That's pretty much what I am thinking: Someone will offer MVS more, while Tonyan won't draw much outside interest. If Big Dog doesn't retire, he's a shoo-in to be brought back as his blocking is so valuable.NCF wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022 11:00Early surprise for me, based on current voting, is MVS. like him too, he garnard a C+ grade, this off season should help him, another TC, PS games, DT imo is a tough position for a rookie, NFL O Lineman are so much better then those they faced in college.
Lancaster according to these grades is very good against the run, but really non existent rushing the passer, obviously why his snap count is so low.

Ma0ybe I will be wrong, but don't see a huge FA market for MVS.

Speed receivers who can run good go routes tend to get paid well in FA.
Generally over expectations in many cases.
My best guess is MVS gets like 3 for 24. I just wouldn't be shocked at all to see like 3 for 36.

Wouldn't like to see him go, but that coin, sure hope it's an NFC team. Need so other cap hell teams.
As of right now I lean towards us holding it all together for another year, so I voted accordingly. Main offensive nucleus and also unfortunately saying goodbye to the 2019 FA class.
Any speculation that they trade Jaire Alexander and his 13 mil salary thinking they can't afford him the next year when he's an FA. And they go with Rasul, Stokes and some rookie.
Lord I hope not.
Jaire, at his age, is a piece you can build an entire defense around. The fact we can have 3 guys back there who can hold their own is practically unheard of.
There’s actually a part of me that thinks Rasul comes back down to Earth a bit going forward. Just seems impossible for him to keep up that level of play when you consider his history.
Long video, but great summary of what all the pieces in the puzzle actually mean.
