The 'All for Yoop' & !@$$ Yoop Off Mock Drafts

We sign Sammy Watkins to a deal. Big number, but everything after year 1 is voidable. $6 million guaranteed for year one. $8 million year two, guaranteed if on the roster Day 1. Everything else is agent fluff. Lazard takes a new number, adds 8 pounds, and is now a Move/Flex TE. Watkins is our #1 WR and Malik Taylor is our #2 WR heading into the draft.
Now for the picks....
Chris Olave, WR
#14 - We send #22 and #59 to Baltimore. We get a great WR prospect.
Treylon Burks, WR
#28 - Value matches draft slot. Different type than Olave. Great prospect.
Christian Watson , WR
#53 - His rookie year he runs three routes - Curl, Post, and Go. That's it. No option routes. He blocks. Also, he is a Gunner on STs.
Brian Robinson, RB
#92 - Big bruiser. More weapons for AR. A post Aaron Jones future is closer than we think. RBs don't age well.
Alec Pierce, WR
#132 - Big and can run and catch.
Jamaree Saylor, OL
#140 - Guard, but he can play all 5 positions in a pinch. More help for our beleaguered HOF QB.
Dominique Robinson, Edge
#144 - Gary lite. You can't teach athleticism. Maybe you can teach football. #171 + #258, trade with Carolina.
Now all Yoop can complain about is CB, S, and ILB...

As the board's biggest Sammy Watkins fan, I have to ask why you expect us to give him a raise off of his 1-year $5M prove-it deal where he looked fine, but again got injured and didn't increase his stock?
Boy better be cheaper than $6M guaranteed.

Agree. He would have value and could pull a Campbell ish type rebirth. 5 mil is about right
Also I would NEVER trade up for Olave. Ill be that guy acting a fool that night in LV
Maybe 1 more wr and this draft is set

Sure, if you can buy him for less, do so. Apparently I am a bigger fan...
Who knows how much he gets. But like you, I do want him. I don't think he's ever played with a QB near AR's precision and talent.

The Packers sign no WRs and enter the season with Lazard and Taylor as #1 and #2. The Packers maximize value and quantity, which helps down the road with the cap.
#22 - David Ojabo, Egde
#28 - Jordan Davis, DL
#53 - Chad Muma, ILB
#59 - Darian Kinnard, OL
#92 - Nick Cross, S
#132 - Kerby Joseph, S
#140 - Jamaree Saylor, OL
#171 - Tyquan Thornton, WR
#258 - Kevin Austin, WR

I tend to prefer drafts that are more balanced than ones that heavily target any given position.
But man, Olave and Burks together is too exciting for me to care about the rest, haha. I also like the idea of Watkins even though he's a project and MVS decoy more than a playable WR option, provided he's not our first choice at WR. I also even think Pierce is a really good prospect for us.
The way to go IMO is with our first four picks is to alternate between need (really only WR) and BPA, but I oddly like the WR version better, maybe because I like the actual prospects taken a lot more than any of the guys in the second other than Muma and Salyer.

It could happen again ............ only WRs instead of CBs. There is precedence for this. Get 3 and hope one sticks.
From the internet ........... so it must be true:
"On the first day of selections, he used picks in the first, second and third rounds on cornerbacks. Big cornerbacks, too. Clemson’s Antuan Edwards, 6-foot-1, came off the board at No. 25 overall. Then came 5-foot-11 speedster Fred Vinson of Vanderbilt at No. 47 overall. And finally, maybe the boldest pick of the bunch, 6-foot Mike McKenzie of Memphis at No. 87 overall."

It is a little joke, as Yoop really needs a WR to be drafted in the 1st Round or we'll have wasted all of AR's talent...

I was a bit disappointed not seeing Jahan Dotson didn't make your WR rich mock draft, he may be small, but he catches everything thrown to him, knows what to do after the catch, and defenses will have to honor his speed, I feel the same about the small guy Austin, he's more then just a fast guy, lots of good receivers in this class, they just don't meet all the criteria of a top 10 prospect, but that doesn't mean they wont become a solid pro.
and your right Ghost, I think what the FO has done the last 5 or 6 years concerning the WR position is pathetic, if you have a QB like Rodgers limiting him to 1 quality receiver is a shame.
I'am shocked that he stayed, for years he's had almost zero input concerning player acquisition, under most of Teds tenure he probably felt he didn't need to, Ted originally kept the WR room well stocked, later his respect for Ted kept him quiet.
with Gute it's been a power struggle, Gute's idea of stocking the WR room is to draft mid round projects to groom up, all basically failed to ever become a #2 receiver, and the best of the bunch earned big money on the FA market mostly because he runs fast, it's time to let Rodgers voice his opinion about who we select or bring in to catch his passes, so far Gute has failed to show Rodgers or any of us that he can handle drafting or acquiring WR help, about time he listens to his QB a little more.

Oh those were the days! lol.
Edwards who?
Vinson who?
Only McKenzie turned into something. He was awesome to watch. He gave credibility to our secondary when it was sorely lacking for a time.

Yeah, I know. I like the draft too. I wouldn't be upset coming out with that talent.

When I think of those guys, I automatically turn Vinson into Ahman Green.
