YoHo's Athletes and Needs Dream Draft

Post by YoHoChecko »

This is basically what I've been saying in other threads and such elsewhere and plenty could change, but here's what I really wish

Days One and Two

Day Three

A couple options at each position for rounds 4-6. Some one-liner options for the 7th round trio.

I’ve really come around to Jelani Woods.

Another unicorn, he’s like a more athletic, better with ball in hands, big dog.

He’s a freak, I like freaks.

I really don’t understand this 4th round grade BS.

Wait, what am I even talking about?

I would WAY rather have Tyquan Thornton at 109 than Austin or Bell.

Thorton has 8 1/4 inch tiny hands. Not sure if that is on the packer draft criteria list but u better be careful just the same.

I would be content. 'Not big on trading up this year, but the talent of Davis at a premium position more than justifies it. All-in on Watson. Chenal has a role, like him. *Love* Woods as a guy to develop at TE if we can snag him.

David Bell is a guy I liked quite a bit early in the draft process. Sadly, his measurables (to me) are basically in un-draftable territory.

What's your projection for the "star" position in this scenario?

I mean, stay healthy?

The Packers were a dime team under Pettine, but they're rarely that under Barry. They're a nickel team: 5 DBs. So Rasul, Stokes, Jaire, Amos, and Savage are our starting 5.

We could use depth. We need some depth. But throwing recent day 3 picks Vernon Scott and Shemar Jean-Charles in as 3rd safety/back-up slot guy gives some coverage there; not to mention whatever that Raiders STer can give us, or if Ento finally starts developing into the flashes we've seen more consistently; or if an UDFA safety like Innis Gaines takes a next step.

If there's a top-end guy like Dax Hill we can get, I'd love to. But after that, I feel like anyone we bring in is just depth as a rookie, anyway. I guess I want to be more comfortable with the 6th and 7th DBs than I am with Jean-Charles and Scott, but a rookie draft pick outside of the first 2 rounds doesn't make me more comfortable than them, anyway.

Maybe we bring in a lower-end street free agent? Not sure. But again, I'm not sure it's as great of a need as it gets talked about nor if a player outside of the top 50 or so is going to make much more difference to the room than the back end of our roster already can.

Nice list. I might have different preference but can't really argue your thought process

For me just for talking points not to be an ass

Give me Weston late over Watson early. Same athlete no hand issues. Yea being a football player is more important then just speed and stuff but I really don't see a difference in players long term. Better value with Weston

Davis is a monster but the dude only played like 15 snaps a game. That's weird to me. Travis Jones isn't far off and did it alone. I love Jones and think he's the best IDL when it's all said and done.

That's it. That's all I got. The rest where they are are home runs

Haha, Weston will have gray hair by the time the season starts  seriously, have we ever drafted a player that will be 25 as a rookie? never saw him play, but sounds like a late round guy.

Yoho:

just read a article on Baltimore first round prospect lists, not exactly biblical text, 19 players made the list, Davis is #3, and that makes sense, there DL is just as needy as ours, point is, they may not be so ready to trade that pick, they like huge NT's as much as anyone.

https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/li ... -top-needs

several OL, the rest are defensive players, NO WR's, NO RB's, every position on defense is accounted for, seems there rebuilding every position.

Agree Weston is old but for a swing in the 7th round I don't care if he was 30. Early rounds I get it and that's why I don't see Wyatt in play to GB.
