Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #12

I'll start adding players again here in a couple days, once we get past this rather large and obvious tier line. Surprised that Amos lost a spot vs. last year. Says more about other players stepping up on the team. Between Linsley and Savage here. Consistency vs. upside. Going with consistency for n...

Re: Cheese Curds - 2020 - News Around The League

California state colleges are out for the fall. Which means no USC or Cal. Which means the odds that there is no college football in 2020 are now incredibly high.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #11

Wow, as much as I was impressed with the top 5, even top 10, kind of looking scary after 13-15. Already gunna be talking Lazard, Wagner, Funchess, Sternberger. Those guys shouldn’t be top 25 if not top 30. Wouldn’t be surprised if two of those 4 don’t even make the final roster. Yes there is a bit ...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #11

I'll go with Amos here, then Linsley. Both of them are valuable pieces to our team, but Amos was finally a bright spot in the defense in a position that has struggled for years. I think I'm the same, but subject to change my next vote if a strong case is made. Same. I was a weak Amos last round, bu...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #10

Still weighing Amos vs King for this spot. Consistency vs upside. When I look back, the highest Morgan Burnett ever rose was #11. I think Amos is slightly better than Burnett was at his best, but even then, Burnett had a history of inconsistency. Amos benefits from his learning years being elsewhere...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #9

Really kind of looking over this roster, guess it shouldn't be very surprising we went 13-3. For years we talked about how we were good at a lot of places, but kind of lacked that great to elite talent. And we we seemingly have it at all the most important positions. QB, WR1, LT, DT, Edge, CB1, CB2...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #9

Yeah just a tier apart. Alexander was first to go on the red tier, King will got high on the solid starter tier. Its not like King is going to still be around with the questionable starters and high upside rookies that might find a role.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #6

That and Tramon never really looked like or played like a slow CB. He was a 4.4's guy by the eye test.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #6

High 4.4's to 4.5ish can work for a CB with good COD skills and technique. 4.6 just is never going to work for a pro CB. Tramon made a nice career out of his 4.57 speed Like as was pointed out about Sullivan, there were reasons to believe that that number was garbage and that the true number was mu...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #9

I'm still sticking with Jenkins here for the same reason I picked him for the last poll. After that, I dunno. Jenkins is the last guy on the red chip tier for me, then we get in to the solid starters. Amos, King, Linsley, and Savage belong there. I'm guessing Kirksey and possibly Wagner join as well.

Weekend poll, runs until Monday AM.

I'm going to let the number of guys on the poll run down a bit before I add to it.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #6

4.6 40 is...not good...for a CB Weird for a guy with elite jumps in both categories. https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/chandon-sullivan Eye test says he's not THAT slow. Also, this: The 2017 NFL Combine proved to be a mixed bag for Sullivan. Fighting through a hamstring injury, Sullivan could on...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #8

Not sure why Jenkins is this high, or in the conversation with Preston. Josh Sitton was in the top 3 of this thing its first two years, before falling to #6 his last year with the team. Many of use remember what Sitton was like early on, and how quickly he became one of the league's best guards. Je...

I'm going Elgton here. Splitting hairs vs Preston; ascending player vs established player. I think Elgton passes Preston this year.
