The Jordan Love decision

Great post lupe.
I also think that Love looks better, but his accuracy has not improved much and it is what will make it so he is never a median or higher starter.

Yal be careful, being honest about love is risky around here.

My gut feeling: Love is not another #4 or #12. He only looks to have the potential to be an average NFL QB. I'd try to keep Rodgers till his teeth fall off.
Out, not off. My correcting of grammar is the only thing I'm going to contribute to this conversation!German_Panzer wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022 15:16My gut feeling: Love is not another #4 or #12. He only looks to have the potential to be an average NFL QB. I'd try to keep Rodgers till his teeth fall off.
RIP JustJeff
Love is not actually inaccurate, when poised we see him thread the needle, so to me this is still probably some tech issues not quite right, and poor mental compensation adjusting for it, will he ever get it right? who knows, but more time with Clements and playing some more wont hurt.paco wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022 15:22Out, not off. Our evaluations for this year are also based off us trying to evaluate him as a starter while watching him play with 2nd string WR and guys who just got cut. I hope we don't need to see him in a game with 1's this year. The coaches evaluations are based off the practices we don't get to see. Minimally I think he's a suitable backup at a reasonable price.

Love has looked a lot better. I wish they would adjust his opening sequence play calling a bit. He’s got too much adrenaline at the start for the easy dump off passes. They should draw up a bomb at the beginning and some design qb runs to let him burn some of that off and then settle in.
That first 5-6 play script in KC was brutal.lake shark wrote: ↑31 Aug 2022 14:13Love has looked a lot better. I wish they would adjust his opening sequence play calling a bit. Going out on a limb there, are you? What are the odds of a QB being a first ballot HOF level player? 1 in 100+ for late 1st round draft picks?German_Panzer wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022 15:16My gut feeling: Love is not another #4 or #12. Love doesn't need to achieve that level to be a success. I would be very happy with a top 10 NFL QB. A guy you can win a SB with.

I’m not sure if I’d call it a gut feeling that Love, through 2.1 seasons, doesn’t appear to be headed to Canton.German_Panzer wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022 15:16My gut feeling: Love is not another #4 or #12. Regarding a Super Bowl:
An average NFL QB making a below average salary has a much better chance than a MVP QB headed for the HOF who makes the highest salary in the NFL.
Rodgers is proof of that. 1 SB when he was nowhere near the highest paid NFL player. It is damn near impossible to win a SB when your best players left the year before because there was not cap room to keep them.
I just hope that Love will not be as money hungry as Rodgers has been and that he values a SB more than a MVP.

If you want to hear the whole interview, Ty has put the whole thing on the Go Long podcast feed which is free to subscribe to.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022 12:55Tyler Dunne at GoLong has an interview with Love's private QB coach about him. Really interesting stuff. Insider accounts of the development.
Hearing the coach telling Love not to copy Aaron is pretty funny.
Love seems like a very decent guy. Will be interesting to see him next off-season after a year with Clements coaching him.
