Fantasy Football Help Needed
I haven't played in five or six year now, I think. At one point I was in 27 Dynasty Leagues....killed my enjoyment of just WATCHING football.
I have joined my work league. One and done - no dynasty. Small amount of $$ on the line. My workplace is a MS/HS; the high school has a dominant 8 man football program (anything less than a State title is considered failure) and everyone else in the league is a football coach or somehow connected to the program. This is my second year at the school and I want some street cred.
It is standard scoring, 1 pt PPR, with a K and DEF. 12 teams.
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex. 7 bench spots, 1 IR.
Picks: I have the 9, 16, 33, 40, 57, 64, 81, 88, 105, 112, 129, 136, 153, 160, 177, 184.
It has been so long I honestly don't know any rosters outside of GB. Looking at lists this morning it seems that TE is thin, thin, thin.
Should I go zero RB?
Should I take a TE at #9 to maximize VORP?
Anybody have any thoughts for me?

Take who falls to you. If you don’t like the RB, take Jefferson, Chase or Kupp. Don’t take TE.

Is this a resource you prefer for player rankings?
I've only watched GB for the last 3 to 4 years. For example, I know Kelce and Kittle still play, but I can't really name any other TEs.

This is a pretty good PPR ranking page. I'd go with one of the big 3 receivers if they get to you and wait on TE until Dallas Goedert, TJ Hockenson, Ertz range. I've waited longer and got Kmet, who will be a target sponge. Don't even think about QB until round 6 or later, in my opinion.

Go with whatever Matt says. I don’t really go off rankings, just personal preference.

Pretty shocking how low GB OFF players are listed, outside of Jones.
Yeah I think AJ Dillon is a great target, and Lazard late, but it's hard to know about any of the other WRs or TEs. I think waiting and getting Rodgers late is a good strategy, but earlier targets who run are also tempting at QB (Jackson, Hurts, Murray). If you think you waited too long at QB, take Cousins - he is going to be running a Rams-style offense in MN and should be throwing a ton.Ghost_Lombardi wrote: ↑03 Sep 2022 07:56Pretty shocking how low GB OFF players are listed, outside of Jones.
Here's my latest draft in a Yahoo! money league. Very excited to get Hurts in the 7th, it let me stack RB/WR in the first 6 rounds. Risky but potentially league-winning 1st round pick that you (Ghost) won't have the opportunity to draft. If I'd been more sure of him I wouldn't have gone with 3 RBs in the top three. I really think Jones has Kamara upside hopefully without the risk of suspension.
Priority Male
1. (2) Christian McCaffrey (Car - RB)
2. (19) Aaron Jones (GB - RB)
3. (22) Javonte Williams (Den - RB)
4. (39) Tee Higgins (Cin - WR)
5. (42) Mike Williams (LAC - WR)
6. (59) JuJu Smith-Schuster (KC - WR)
7. (62) Jalen Hurts (Phi - QB)

Although I got CMac and Jones at 3 and 21, clearly better value

We can't all have league-mates that take a QB with the second overall pick.

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I think it helps a lot during the draft if there's a little red "Q" for questionable next to your player. In my other league I took him at the end of the 3/4 turn, because he was hard to resist there even though I took Ja'marr at the 1/2 turn.
Just curious which, if any, Green Bay WRs you all are targeting in fantasy drafts and what rounds?

In a normal type league, hard to justify any for a starter role.
With Tonyan back and Jones and Dillon both likely large contributors in the passing game, just not a lot of confidence any one guy to be the man.
Maybe target Sammy then Lazard in the draft late, then be prepared to jump on Watson or Doubs if either are floating on waivers and either starts getting a good look.
I picked up Lazard in one of my leagues in rd 9. All other Packer WR/TE are waaaay down the rankings list so didn't really feel the need to jump on any of them. I do think I may pick up Watkins just before kickoff this weekend and stash him. I feel like he, of all the receivers, has the best shot of an eye-opening week 1 performance and thus targeting for waiver wire for week 2. Kind of a jump-the-competition type move.BF004 wrote: ↑06 Sep 2022 21:53In a normal type league, hard to justify any for a starter role.

I ended up with:
Dak Prescott (QB)
Joe Mixon (RB)
David Montgomery (RB)
AJ Dillon (RB)
Rhamondre Stevenson (RB)
Kenyan Drake (RB)
Kenneth Walker III (RB)
CeeCee Lamb (WR)
Michael Pittman, Jr. (WR)
Amari Cooper (WR)
Devante Parker (WR)
Sammy Watkins (WR)
Darren Waller (TE)
Robert Tonyan (TE)
Jake Elliot (K)
Steelers (DEF)
Starters are in bold. I am thinking about dropping Tonyan for another RB (Brian Robinson, Rex Burkhead, Sony Michel, etc), but there is literally nothing on the waivers for TE should Waller get injured.

I waited on TE during one of my drafts and over a 2-rd run the position was depleted. I ended up with Mo-Allie Cox. I have since picked up Tonyan in hopes than one of them becomes a surprise starter level player.
