Did anyone throw money mnkcarp's way?

Not sure. He’s owed $40 (he can keep his $20). I was paid by BF, NCF, and mad city so far.
Wisconsin Cheese Is Better Than California Cheese!
If there's a place/person to keep it, I'd like $20 to count for this year, and $20 for 2024 rather than collect.

You get $40.
You owe $20 for last year and $20 for this year.
I think you are all set.
Everyone (other than carp) wanna Venmo me $20 for 2023 as well then?

I just sent my $40 for last year and this year.
On the other issue, are we reducing to 29 active and opening waivers on cutdown day? I think that's consistent with what we've been saying, which would mean OMG TOMORROW
(I feel like we should open waivers tomorrow but do cutdowns the Monday before opening day--we often have done that, I believe, so that you can make your cuts and process waiver claims after cutdowns before the Thursday season opener)
Not to nitpick, but if we scroll back, didn't it say 2nd place was $60? I figured the $40 in question was after paying for last year.BF004 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023 19:23You get $40.

We have never done it that way. Waiver claims have always been after cut down.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023 19:30

I spent some time going through the old threads and looking for how the schedule has worked in the past.
In 2018, waivers opened July 23 after our draft. Our roster was supposed to be cut down the Friday before Labor Day weekend, August 28th. NFL roster cuts occurred Tuesday September 1. We decided that we should do our roster cuts after NFL cuts from now on.
In 2019, waivers opened July 22 after our draft. NFL roster cuts were due Tuesday August 31. Our final roster cutdowns happened on Labor Day (Monday September 2). The NFL season began Thursday September 5.
In 2020, our waivers opened July 20 after our draft. NFL roster cuts were due Saturday, September 5. Our final roster cuts happened on Labor Day, September 7th. The NFL season began on Thursday September 10th
In 2021, waivers opened July 12th after our draft. I don't have the info on this one at the moment.
In 2022, waivers opened August 2 after a little confusion and discussion as to the normal schedule. Final roster cuts for our league were the Monday before the NFL season opened on Thursday. I don't have the dates easily stored.
So, in short, we have always had separate waiver openings and roster cutdown days. Roster cutdown day has almost always been the Monday the week the season starts. This isn't based on memory or thinking. I checked.

I concede I was wrong.
We need to stick to a schedule and not change it up every year. The only thing to be on the same schedule is cut downs the last handful of years. Have Roster cuts due on Labor Day and Waiver claims the Wednesday before Labor Day. Or Sunday for cuts and Monday for claims. Whatever, just something that is consistent.

YoHoChecko wrote: ↑21 Aug 2023 09:59Ok, so NFL cutdowns are Tuesday August 29
First NFL Game is Thursday, September 7....
That means we want waivers to process by Wednesday, September 6
Our waiver period is 48 hours, so that means we unlock on Monday, September 4
Which means our roster cuts have to be completed before that.
Does this seem right? Do we want to talk specific roster cutdown day deadline beyond "must be done before we press "unlock" on the 6th to get the 48-hour waiver period started? Do we usually try to make our roster cuts right around when the league makes theirs?

We should take that $200 we collect now, and put it all into bitcoin.
Wherever it is in February, that should be the payout.
Keep the same ratios, point winner gets 10%, champ get 60%, 2nd place gets 30%.

Little late on the setting the cut down date, apologies. However easier with bye week now between PS and week 1.
Let’s do Thursday night at midnight for cutdowns to 29. .
I’ll open up the first waiver period on Friday then.
