I wish I had more hands so I could give this hire 4 thumbs down.
Oh come now, ya gotta at least read up on the guy.
I feel like we just hired Ted Lasso.

Love the first two. Gary could be so much better, imo, with hand in the dirt. Such a better first step.

No idea if we can handle #3.

All the hot up and comers…and all I heard about was “how attractive the job is” and we go left field, college, buddy of Shanahan.

I know nothing about the guy, but that’s funny on the surface to me

This is a good update on what he can do when he has high-level talent, though co-DC is a weird thing. Who was his co-leader?

Yal gotta admit this is kinda funny tho right?
I’d say more predictable than funny.

Funniest part is out of 100+ covering this with ‘sources’, had to be close to 50 names mentioned. Not on one list.

The interview I'm watching he jokes about that being his first job and him thinking he must be really good at it, then realizing how much harder it was once Revis left

Some quick thoughts.

First I think if you want the most out of Stokes this is how to do it. He will only ever be good in press man situations because his lower body is so god damn awful at the receivers break point.

I think everyone across our defensive front gets more value except Brooks. I think he excelled in the way we used him under Barry. I wonder if we use him maybe as a big edge at times.

LB now becomes an incredibly high needs. Do we need to keep Campbell now? We could go the 49ers route and have athletic freaks at LB and have one of them like Burks who is a weak option but can get value as a part time player in base.

Finding the mythical single high safety now becomes priority one and this type of safety often fails because they’re all speed and no reads.

I say your defense like this.

Van Ness - Clark ‐ Wyatt - Slaton / Brooks
Gary - Walker - Smith

and you just unleash them.

idk, whenever I see a college guy judged on the merits of what he did with a bunch of recruiting talent, I throw that part of the resume in the trash

It is a totally different game, made 1000x easier when you have the nation's best players available to you

Pretty sure I could have been a successful OC at Oklahoma during the Baker Mayfield era. Or at LSU while Beckham et al were there.

And I guess it sort of goes for the pros too. Lots of talent = hold your horses on the praise and accolades

I would love a centerfielder type of safety again, if they even exist anymore

All the packers Twitter crew that didn’t have this guy on their radar at all…that haven’t even looked at ANYTHING about him…are firing off tweets about what we can expect with him. It’s comedy!!

I suggested that we would be in the dark until a name was named. A couple said I was wrong.

Anyhow, classic MLF/Packers hire. I'm sure we won't know enough to scratch our itch til around September.

I'm in until otherwise. In MLF I trust.
