2024 Draft Day 2 Discussion
Vikings traded up 3 times to get two players, no longer have a 2nd, 3rd or 4th I believe this year or next.
Bears got 150 picks from the Panthers and only have two picks left this year.
Lions traded away their 3rd and 4th, only 4 picks left.
This is when Gute separates the men from the boys.
Too lazy to check, but I think we have more picks left than the lions, Vikings and bears combined, oh my.

What would it take to move to 33? I really want Cooper and I think is an absolute playmaker. What teams ahead of us are cb needy?
Vikes traded up for a QB when they didn't have one, definitely justifiable. The move for Turner was silly though. They have too many needs to make a move like that. And edge is really not "all that" anymore.
Another "competitive rebuild" year ahead from Minny! Enjoy 7-10!

I dont think cooper is a corner back in the league. I think he will be moved to safety. And will probably be successful.
I Do Not Hate Matt Lafleur
probably our 4th rounder, plus swapping 41 for 33, and thats if we can find a trade partner, Cooper imho will have a bunch of interest, I'd do that trade in a NY minute, might even bump it to a 3rd just to get the trade done, he and McKinny would become one of the best safety tandems in the league
41 our 4th and 7th, I have doubts DeJean will last 4 picks in round 2, to many teams cut there safety's, and according to most he's not only the best safety prospect, but also the best player left in this draft, I know that seems a stretch to say, still a cheap safety as good as he's expected to be has to be very attractive to the teams needing one, like us, Cooper just seems like a perfect fit.
Yep, everyone cut safeties. Some signed big ones (like us). The league clearly doesn't value the position highly. If they see DeJean as a safety, that's why he didn't get drafted in the 1st.Yoop wrote: ↑26 Apr 2024 10:4141 our 4th and 7th, I have doubts DeJean will last 4 picks in round 2, to many teams cut there safety's, and according to most he's not only the best safety prospect, but also the best player left in this draft, I know that seems a stretch to say, still a cheap safety as good as he's expected to be has to be very attractive to the teams needing one, like us, Cooper just seems like a perfect fit.
Not to say he'll last long today. But there are plenty of other highly thought of guys left. Some at higher profile positions. So you never know.

If Brian Branch fell to the Lions last year in the second, Cooper DeJean can fall to the Packers at 41.
Not saying he will; but remember a lot of you guys wanted to trade up to get guys who fell to/past us yesterday, too.
I don't think Gutey moves a Day Two pick, and the 4th or 5th rounders we can offer won't move us very far. I can see either side of it. At the end of the day, I still want DeJean; I have an alternative want in Bullard if we miss him. And I'm mentally prepared for the team to keep passing on guys I like for them because I've been a Packers fan long enough to accept our fate and they have done well enough that I am mostly deferential. But the emotions are real.

I only want Dejean if we plan to use him in the nickel. I would love if we ended up with Maximus Aurelius Melton.

Love Melton if we're just looking for a CB with inside/outside flexibility. DeJean and Bullard are my nickel/safety picks. Take 'em all! Brand new secondary!lupedafiasco wrote: ↑26 Apr 2024 12:00I only want Dejean if we plan to use him in the nickel. I would love if we ended up with Maximus Aurelius Melton.
Listened to Justis a little bit ago. Got a tip of either Edgerrin Cooper or Marshawn Kneeland at 41.

Marshawn Kneeland?? Land of Knee??? That would be a really stupid pick.
Rashan Gary: power rush. LVN: power rush, pretty much solely bull-rush. Kingsley: bag-of-tricks rusher, more of a technical than athletically-gifted 'rusher. (+ Cox: slow, power-rush... not that last year's UDFA should factor into any decision in Day 2).
What exactly does a third power-rusher give you, other than depth? I can get quality EDGE depth in the 5th. That's exactly how we got Enagbare.
Ugh, please some team take him before our fool mgmt says "derp, gotta follow {{ DA 'BOARD }}!!"

Watch us trade up, and the pick is Ladd McConkey.
