Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2023 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Dillon and Dillard for me today.
I'll add a few more tomorrow to get back up to 20.

Just Enagbare here for me. He will provide a ton of value as our #4 pass rusher.
Last adds to the list that I would conceivably vote for are Corey Ballentine and Ben Sims.

Engabare and McDuffie for me again. I expect both to be important role players

Enagbare for sure. I'll toss a vote to Dillon, but McDuffie is also right there. I feel like either of those two could be cut if someone steps up or they have a multi-week injury, though.

Went McDuffie and Melton.
McDuffie is probably a starter in base and a key STs player for us. We may not play base often but it’s still a good portion of the snaps. It’s also e timely possible he just straight up beat Walker or Cooper knowing Hafleys scheme and being the only true Mike style LB that can take on blocks. Unlikely but still there. If either gets hurt he easily takes on a huge role for the defense.
Melton on the other hand is easily one of the top 30 players on the roster but buried at WR. He will have value though as an alternate returner if either Nixon or Reed get hurt. He’s also the next best deep threat to Watson if his injuries continue. One injury to one of the top 4 put Melton in line for some pretty serious playing time.

Enagbare and McDuffie, Enagbare will see a lot of snaps rotating in and Duffy the same at ILB, plus teams play.
this is as deep positionally as this team has been in years.

I'm going Melton. There are going to be some games where he takes over. Secondaries can't shut that much depth.
And McDuff. Was looking good I think he'll get some action.

I’m not understanding the thinking that Enagbare will get a lot of snaps. He had a super late injury that doesn’t seem as significant but on top of that he is clearly 4th on the depth chart at edge and that doesn’t include the possibility of playing Walker or Cooper on the edge.
If we are talking deep bench players there isn’t a chance in hell Enagbare is better than Melton.

4th edge in 2023 still got 33% of the snaps.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I went with Enegbare because he's a damn good football player.
I am voting over good football players compared to "who we think will be higher on a depth chart"

Bo Melton had an 88 PFF grade compared to 61 and 64 PFF grades for Enagbare.

thats because PFF graders suck donkey balls when it comes to grading receivers course the general public is even worse
, Tonyan caught 52 of 58 targets one year, run out, stop, turn, and catch isn't exactly MVP worthy
I like Melton, so don't read into my rant, but again one of the top 4 receivers, mainly Watson, or one of Kraft, Mushburger, or our RB's will have to be out for Melton to get more snaps then our #4 edge rusher, and we've seen real good stuff from both, and then nothing, then later good stuff again, so positionally pretty hard to say who's best
Yeah that's why I voted for Melton first.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑23 Jun 2024 11:34Bo Melton had an 88 PFF grade compared to 61 and 64 PFF grades for Enagbare.
I am the first person on this forum to vote for Bo. He should have been in the 20's

Where are these Dillon votes coming from. He had his chance in the sun last season was dog &%$@. To the point the team had to dig through the cap rules to pay him damn near nothing and brought in two more backs.
Dillon is certified cheeks.

We are ranking the bottom half of the roster. Dillon probably is your third-down 'back this year, and fine in that role because he blocks and catches well. A solid role-player in the 30s seems like a reasonable ranking.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑23 Jun 2024 14:00Where are these Dillon votes coming from. He had his chance in the sun last season was dog &%$@.
