King deserves a spot.

I think Dillon is a complete lock for his presence in the locker room and leadership. I think they would cut him already if he was odd man out so he could go get a new deal (cowboys).

Best team so far Gutenbumst has ever built. It’s the first time I think we have seen in a long time going into the season with a league wide worst position group. For year we have the worst S or LB or RB or TE room. For multiple years we went with the worst WR 2 on because of a GM ineptitude. It’s good to finally see some competence.

I really think the team is going to try and get a K from someone. Its possible they can trade an edge or WR straight up for one. I would think most teams want draft capital. I think even if we cut Anders no one is touching him unless its for their PS and I would think hed rather stay with Bissacia.

Also Im changing my mind on Dubose and going Heath. Heath is the better teams player and he showed up and showed out this last game.

I didn't even realize Heath played on any of the Teams units. A deep dive into that one of these years would probably guide us to exactly what the final roster decisions are. I went with Heath over Dubose, also, but there were clips of Dubose on punt coverage that almost made me stick with him.

I just saw a blurb on this new DL guy Keonte Schad, says he signed a 3 year deal with GB for $ 2.83M ???

That seems strange given the timing and length of deal. Does that suggest a spot on the 53 or am I off base ?

Very unbalanced offense/defense, but the IR and PS kind of amends for that. Obvi there are more PS slots, but this is the extent of the names of players I even have an opinion on

Cutting both Heath and DuBose and getting both back may not be popular/likely, but I think it's at least plausible and you can get at least one back. I agree that our bottom-roster WRs are better than most, but every team has these guys that they like and want to develop over time and they very often stick with their own. And if we lose one or both because of this? Eh, I guess a trade to recoup that 7th rounder we spent on Willis would be fine instead but we're really nickel and diming at that point.

I could also see swapping Dillard and Glover; protecting the investment in Glover and keeping the rookie contract while utilizing the PS rules that allow a few actual veterans on it for Dillard and only use him as a PS call-up or activate him to the 53 if needed. The reports that the team is still searching for a swing T don't bode well for him. I like Telfort though.

That was a Demovsky "report" and he's the same guy who "reported" the Packers were looking into moving Zach Tom to OC- so I have to take it with a big grain of salt. Every team needs 4 OTs and there aren't 120 NFL- caliber OTs to choose from. So I am hard pressed to think Dillard is out in lieu of some other guy getting cut...because he's the 5th best OT on their depth chart. And then banking on a new OT who hasn't spent 2 minutes in GB over the summer ? Seems improbable if we're talking about protecting The Franchise.

Unless they bring back Bak (!) - I'm guessing Dillard is OT3 for game 1, and we'll see what happens after that

I think Telfort and Glover deserve more chances to develop. I am not sure they are ready to be the top back-up at either OT spot. Dillard probably is, but only at LT. Can you really take up a roster spot for a one position reserve? I have speculated a ton that the team is going to look for another OT that can play both sides. I think if they find someone even close to Dillard, it's an easy decision.

There's the rub...its mostly crapola out there and some teams are offering a chance to compete for a starting position
So a better-than-Dillard OT is more likely to chose those opportunities.

Here's a link to OT depth charts across the league- take a stroll through column 3 and 4 and see what you see.
(I don't have the leaguewide-knowledge to know these players)

Yeah, I didn't say it would be a given. I guess we will have to see what shakes loose, first.

Ok, here's how I did:

Red text for guys I picked to make it that missed it
Green text for guys I picked to miss that made it.
Yellow box for IR errors (Thought Davis would be designated to return; thought Ford would miss the roster but he's on IR-return; thought Dillon would make the 53 but he's on IR)

My thoughts:

Dillon to IR WITHOUT return. He is done for the year. He gets paid for this year, but almost certainly is done in GB permanently.

Davis to IR WITHOUT return. Also done for the year. I suspect the ACL is not 100% and going to IR is legitimate and he will be back a year from now.

Kristin Welch and Kalen King cut. Both unfortunate. Hopefully they both make it to the PS.

Heath over DuBose makes sense to me. Heath is different than the other receivers and he did very well in that last game even with a weak QB.

I guess I called it on draft day. Drafting a QB in the 7th round was a total and predictable waste. He did better than expected and Clifford did worse than expected and still it is Clifford that goes to the PS and Pratt goes home or maybe to a different team's PS.
