So my wife took the TrailBlazer through the car wash that I told her not to and it ripped off the antenna, including damaging the base that it screws into, so it all had to be replaced.

Two different dealerships gave me quotes of plus $500. 187 for parts and around 350 in labor.

I ordered the part online at $73.

I was able to pull back the header and remove the old base in 12 minutes. It was held in place by one 10 mm bolt.

Screw the stealership.

I find this to be true with most household and automotive repairs. I have saved tons of money and learned most repairs are pretty easy with the help of YouTube. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, AC unit (will never be without a spare capacitor again), refridgerator, vehicles...the list is endless. If you know how to hold a multimeter right side up, or know which end of the screwdriver to insert into the screw, chances are high you can save yourself a ton of cash by simply following somebody's easy video instructions.
