I would pick a nit or two and say I wanted literally a couple more deep shots and literally a couple more play action passes when we were just hammering the run--honestly like 4-5 run plays as pass plays instead in certain scenarios (2nd and short/medium comes to mind).

I think the patience of this game plan and the execution by Willis not trying more than he was asked, the OL for going at it all day, and Jacobs for routinely getting more than what was blocked for him were all excellent. I do not question the cautious/conservative approach down the stretch at all. But I think there were opportunities to use our speed and talent outside to make them pay for the run-heavy approach particularly in the second half

Fun game to watch. It's nice being just significantly better and seeing that translate to a win, even if it gets a bit closer than many wanted. They played it right down the stretch. They forced that clock to run. They had a 2-TD lead. It was a great plan and a very well-executed game. They made some mistakes that bailed us out (mostly a couple of key drops). But we made some mistakes that could have bailed them out.

Also, Quay should be a weakside LB not a middle LB. He should not be making calls or lining anyone up.

I genuinely think even though a lot of his woes are physical (missed tackles, bad angles), he is better if his role is less thinking, less taking on, and more running

I am actually very pleased with our game today. The D didn't contain Taylor much but it didn't really matter much because Indy couldn't throw much.

The D was alright overall. Willis was 100% of what he needed to be. Running game was more than solid.

The stars aligned to give us this matchup this week. With their lack of running D, Indy was probably the best matchup we could've had with our new QB.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

Exactly!

He’s playing out of position currently imo

Anthony Richardson is worse than I expected but the d was awesome. Made plays all day. They allowed Lafleur the opportunity to protect Malik so much. I bet Lafleur was happy he hired a new dc after a day like that.

Also-we had some penalty’s stack up, but overall, even with the backup qb..it was a much cleaner game. I’m telling you…just discard everything about Brazil, and start the evaluation now of the team.

X looks awesome

Wilson played like 8 snaps but made plays

Gary may be lost in this scheme. He’s practiced all his career as a standup guy and it took him a long time to “develop”. He’s too slow coming out of the dirt and isn’t a good enough run defender. Something to keep an eye on.

Stokes is losing playing time every snap

Malik did what a qb2 has to do: NOTHING DUMB. And then have some speed.

Kraft is a star

Wicks flashed with the td

I would use Bo Melton LESS.

I was at the game. It was a hot one..........and no breeze whatsoever. Our kicker is doing well under almost perfect wind conditions.

Glad we got out of there with the W. Holding the Indy offense to less that 20 points continues to work. Nice to see Malik stay poised throughout. I'll say LaFleur did OK today

The Old Timers ceremony at halftime was great. Lofton and Majik got the biggest applause. Eddie Lee Ivery got a nice welcome as well.

Agree and I am not ripping MLF. He coached an A game as I said. (B+ to A-)

The play to Doubs proves out your point. We could have taken a couple more shots with them type of opportunities especially when they were selling out to stop our run. IF we get a good single coverage matchup give your receiver a chance to make a play. You also have a chance to get a PI flag. A good receiver has such an advantage when in one on one coverage if he has any ball skills at all. Even balls that are thrown very short have descent chances to turn into positive outcomes.

I'll be very interested in seeing what the analysis about Gary and our DEs looks like when folks see the all-22. Due to the QBs we've faced, it's been all contain, contain, contain. No freedom to rush, no liberty to take a rush wide. That said, woulda expected Gary to bull rush someone to Richardson's lap.

The above also speaks about how the team has bought into LaFleur's plan, and what an unselfish bunch this is. Rushers staying in their lanes to not allow the 2 mobile QBs to play to their strengths. There will be games when the pass rushers will have their reins taken off, but it was not this day. Receivers were tasked with blocking all day, zero complaints (as usual). I'd love to get Christian Watson going in the passing game, but the dude is there for most snaps happily blocking. It's like having a Ferrari towing a trailer. Malik Willis disciplined like a soldier.

It's weird having the Green Bay Packers come into a game with a game plan of run run run, and ACTUALLY PULLING IT OFF. I suspect the OL and other blockers will wear this game proudly like a medal, and it's a valuable thing for LaFleur to have for the future.

I expect us to do more 1st and 2nd down passing in the next game - they're sure to man the box, which should open things up.

Some fans improvised taping Willis over Rodgers on their jerseys plus blocking over the #1. Innovative!

Did we run any play not out of gun?
I thought I saw a few. Interestingly they ran a lot from pistol which I think is the move when Love returns to limit the amount he needs to use his legs.
I think yesterday's game is going to greatly impact the offense for the rest of the year with its diverse running success.

This has to give MLF the confidence that he can be that diverse running team he always wanted to be. We just have so many players who can run the ball.

Thought Lambeau was rocking on defense through the TV. Did you feel it was loud at the game?

Crap. How long was it?
45
45 ain't a chip shot.
In the NFL, 2024, 45 yards is a chip shot. He cannot miss those kicks on a perfect day in Lambeau for kicking.

How often have we heard HCs in the past tell us they would be committed to the run only to chuck it by the second quarter?

Through 2 weeks, only 3 kickers have missed 2 FG's.

Justin Tucker - (both from 50+)
Cade York - (1 from 40-49, 1 from 50+). He is now unemployed.
Brayden Narveson - (both from 40-49)

Only 3 kickers have a worse percentage than Narveson's 75% (6-8).

Justin Tucker - 71.4% (5-7)
Matt Gay - 50% (1-2)
Cade York - 0% (0-2). Austin Seibert is the new kicker in Washington. Signed off the street and went 7-7 yesterday.

You are right. Kickers all over the league are nailing 40+ yarders with seemingly ease. My bad. :hide:

Maybe the Ravens don't want Tucker anymore... ;)

I don't think he has too many misses left at those distances before he's no longer here. Just my opinion. I don't think they're going to bail on him yet unless he's just sucking in practice too, but those kicks are exactly why we have kickers to score us points.
