Packers @ Lions GDT: Thursday, Dec. 5th, 7:15 PM CST

We are going to tape the replay on NFLN overnight and watch it on Friday.
This is one game where we cannot commit stupid penalties, especially pre-snap ones, or turn it over if we want to win this one. It will help if Jaire is back.

Updated with Dope Sheet and Injury Report
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
A little worried about Jenkins being able to go.
I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with him. I had assumed him missing practice was veteran rest that he has been consistently getting. He finished the game on Thanksgiving, right?

So today will be like the traditional Friday injury report.
Hoping for some good news.
Really hope Doubs can go. His injury shouldn’t be limiting like a Cooper or Jaire, so he should be about as close to 100% as you can get this time of year.

Elg was back full at practice on Tuesday, as were Ja and Doubs. Cooper and Ballentine limited and rehabbing.
Yeah it was a weird situation on Monday and a little worried about the knee. But seems good to go.
FWIW, Rasheed and Malik Heath were at the Bucks game Saturday night. Hope that bodes well for Rasheed.

To me, this game is a toss up, loaded with intangibles. The Lions are arguably the best team in the NFL, but they do have some injuries/players likely out at critical positions. The Packers are ascending and scoring points.
So, have the Packers solved their pre-snap penalties issue?
Can the Lions elevate above their injuries?
Can the Packers score a couple of takeaways on the road against a team that takes care of the ball?
Will the Lions' offense be slowed at all by our improving defense?
I really think it'll come down to the turnovers and/or whomever gets the ball last. Should be a really good game. And no way should it become a defensive battle with a 13-10 result.

Both of these teams use the rush to set up their offenses and I suspect that will play a significant role in winning the game
https://www.footballdb.com/stats/teamst ... t=rushypg
the loins are giving up 93 yds rushing / game, the Packers come in at 106 per contest
The lions rank # 5 in rush yards allowed
The Packers rank # 8 in rush yards allowed
I'd guess that some of that is related to the loins having massive leads - and opposing teams giving up on the run.
Same is true with with the Packers, but to a lesser extent
We can see this reflected in number of rushing attempts/game
https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/o ... s-per-game
In terms of rush yards/attempt:
The Packers D are ranked # 7 in the league at 4.2 per attempt
The loins D are ranked # 15 allowing 4.4 per attempt
https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/o ... sh-attempt
Last season, the Packers manhandled the loins in Det and their top 3 rushers were AJ Dillon, Jordan Love and Jayden Reed

I don't fully trust either one of the starting QB's in critical moments. With Goff, I don't trust him period. With Love, I am still willing to say he hasn't earned my trust yet.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑04 Dec 2024 13:04To me, this game is a toss up, loaded with intangibles. I think that the Lions are better in the trenches and that will ultimately tip the game in their favor.
