This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
And maybe they didn't want to put him out there on that turf in his first game back.
Lions turf is notorious and has claimed many, including Rashan Gary.

If they are worried about the turf I'd keep him out for a couple more games. I'd want Jaire as healthy as possible for the playoffs.
After 12 games, the Packers W/L record is 9-3
After 12 games, the Packers defense has held opponents' offense below their average points per game for 9 contests
...and given up more than their average for 3 games

Pretty much where I'm at.
This is not a must-win game. If they win? Great, they're still competing for the division title but more than likely looking at a wildcard spot with the way the tie-breakers line up. If they lose? They're assuredly looking at a wildcard spot. Not the end of the world. At 9-4, the chances of the Packers still making the playoffs are damn good.
I don't really give a hoot about division titles and home field advantage, neither have proved to be terribly meaningful in the context of post-season success of late. Get these guys past their limiting injuries and ready to fire on all cylinders for the playoff push when it actually is must-win.
Packers D is better under Hafley than it was under Barry.
It is still not a defense that can be relied upon when the Packers play good teams.
Any team is going to struggle with 3 of their top 5 DBs out. We need to get healthy.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."

The Lions were down more players than GB on D, including the likely defensive player of the year at the time of his injury in Huthcinson, and literally had multiple guys picked up off other teams' practice squads playing defense tonight.
Detroit ran 78 plays and put up 391 yards, while Detroit limited GB to 45 plays and 298 yards.
Of all games, the injury excuse rings hollow tonight.
When the Packers go up against good offenses, they are almost never up to the challenge, including tonight.

And Detroit's D gave up 31 points compared to our 34. They weren't anything special tonight either. Injuries are a reason for both teams, not an excuse.

Detroit was definitely not anything special on defense tonight.
Similarly, Philly's D wasn't anything special in week 1 when GB put up 29 points and Minnesota's D was flawed in week 4 when the Packers also put up 29 points.
But the Lions, Eagles, and Vikings defenses were all still better than GB's defense in those games.
It would be nice for the defense to show up and outplay the opponent's defense when we play a team with a winning record.

good point, your right we should have been much better
Detroit has 13 defensive players on IR, still, we needed a short field, and gratuitous mistakes from the Lions to even stay close

It's hard to be down on Stokes for that TD. That's a TOUGH ask for any CB to man up on a receiver without another defender from the sidelines to about the hash.

The lack of any consistent pass rush without blitzing is really hampering the defense. This is especially a problem when our secondary is not playing well enough and makes it difficult for the secondary to play well. This is especially a problem against better teams. Not sure how much the defense can improve with the poor pass rush.

It's hard for me to judge the pass rush vs the Lions because frankly they make every pass rush look stupid.

And they get the ball out QUICK! I would be surprised if Goff had an average time to throw much over 2 seconds.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t just the Lions. It has been as issue all season. At this point in time, it’s not going to go away either.
