I also feel like we're writing off Wicks and Reed as potential top-flight playmakers too early, just like we as a fan base did with Davante and like I and some others did in the first 2-3 years of Jordy. I think with Doubs' head injuries and Watson's ACL, we should draft receiver again and we should focus on a size/speed element given Watson's circumstances and the lack of elite speed elsewhere... but if we're making major investments I think there are better places to do it, like pass rush particularly, and perhaps at corner.

(to be clear: I've never been one of the "Wicks is NEXT" guys. I'm just saying we don't know either of their trajectories from here)

I am of the same mind. I think an addition whether high draft pick or mid-tier veteran, or both, would be a good investment. Corner absolutely has to be to top priority this year.

Can't change the past, but the "Cooper DeJean should have been our guy" crowd (including me) got ample evidence from the way the season played out.

Though Morgan sure would have come in handy, if healthy, when Jenkins went down. I'm not saying there aren't counterpoints. But dang, with our struggles in the middle of the field and limitations at corner, DeJean would have been nice.

I think Davante is a perfect fit here.

2 year contract or so. Basically a Julius Peppers contract, fair money, less guaranteed, easy outs.

We’ll have a need out of the gate next year with Watson out, obviously can hit the ground running here, be a shorter, less guaranteed, financial commitment than a guy like Higgins.

If Watson is healthy by playoffs, Adams and the rest of the lot, that is a damn good room.

Not sure how we would have to go about getting him. Hopefully only like a 4th or a 5th or so, unless the Jets just cut him outright.

Guess who punched the ball out of Nixon’s hands after he recovered his own fumble. Cooper DeJean.

Ya, that one stings given almost all of us wanted the guy. We are without a doubt going to need an OL this coming year, so Morgan is going to get his chance, but it would have been nice to have Dejean this year and going forward.

spot on, be the best money we ever spent, plus I think Tae wants to come back, and our receivers may not like him competing for targets, I think they would warm up to the player and what he could share with them concerning tricks of the trade, might even take a home town discount.

With Davante, he can't come with a $35,640,000 base salary, in my opinion. Right now he has the highest WR cap hit in 2025. Not sure he would restructure, so maybe he gets cut by the Jets and that would solve that. I wouldn't trade for him without a restructure.

100%. I think he would actually restructure to come here. Adams to GB makes so much sense for both sides that I think they could make the money work.

Adams is for sure getting cut. The Jets are rebuilding and he costs entirely too much. No one is trading for that contract, as good as he is at his age. Too risky and most contenders that he will sign off on going to dont have the cap space like that.

I think Adams is the one who makes the most sense. After two failed organizations I think he can respect how good he had it here, even though Gutenbumst did do him dirty by not paying him when he should have. You can spin it as he is bringing his family back to a place they are familiar with, he can come and get the Packers WR record for receptions and possibly catch up to Hudson for TDs next season. He knows he would instantly become WR1 and be on a team that has made the playoffs despite being one of the 5 worst mismanaged WRs corps in the league.

Bullard and Williams needed to perform to quelsh the DeJean noise. Williams is a player. But I would rather have Cooper DeJean over Bullard. *sigh*

Just go with the obvious pick in Rd 1 this year Gute. Please.

I think Clements worked on what we needed to work on with Love, and was hugely beneficial to him, but at this point those lessons need not keep being re-taught (or if they do, not necessarily by him). Like yes keep refining the footwork, but at this point someone else can continue that training while also working on other aspects of his game.

He's the WR I think that makes the most sense. 3 Year $45 Million deal and it's done. I have no idea what he would actually comand. I get scared it's in the mid $20's and I just get skiddish at that level.

Gute didn't pay Adams what he and his agent initially asked for. I suspect Adams wanted a change of scenery. We offered him more than what the Raiders did. Perhaps he may now have a change of heart after playing for 2 of most messed up organizations in the league.

I agree. I can't see another team paying him that kind of coin at this point in his career.

DeJean would have been great. But he wasn't the pick.

DeJean not getting picked because of Morgan is almost like a certain NBA team not picking Michael Jordan because they needed a Forward/Center. So they picked Perkins instead. There was not any question that Jordan was (much) more talented than Perkins. But that certain team didn't need a Guard.

I mention that because sometimes I wonder if Guty (and I do love Guty!) looks so much at pressing team needs and foregoes drafting elite talent. He says he always has a mind for "Best Player Available." But I just don't know if I agree. There's no doubt that he has picked for need, at least in recent years. But how much more should he acquire players for a higher/more transcendant ability? Maybe this is the year.

That wasn't really the scenario for the Packers. OL wasn't a 2024 need pick. Star/slot was.
