ESPN Analyst Mel Kiper doesn't have the Packers taking a wide receiver, cornerback, or offensive lineman in the first round. Instead, a possible replacement for the last defensive first round pick that has not panned out quite yet.

The problem is there are literally no good FA receivers this year aside from Tee Higgins. Maybe Chris Godwin but he plays the slot, same position as our best healthy receiver Reed.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑23 Jan 2025 13:38Im not trading for Kupp who is old and keeps getting beat up with injuries. Id rather just try and sign someone straight out of FA.
2021 aint walking back through that door.go pak go wrote: ↑23 Jan 2025 10:46Kupp and Adams are similar age, profile, and contract.
I think Adams will get released. Kupp is up in the air but I believe may have more trade interest. Personally, I think there is better potential value with a cut and sign of Adams compared to a trade and honor current contract with Kupp. Also feel Kupp has battled a lot of injuries and it makes no sense to pay a player a lot of money if they aren't on the field.
But I do love Kupp. Dude absolutely took over the SB in 2021.
Bro is washed and has lost a step even more than Adams (who i dont want to bring back)

no way I would pay Kupp 17m per. Craziest thing ive ever heard.
Kupp last three seasons:
2022: 812 yards, 6 tds, 9 games
2023: 737 yards, 5 tds, 12 games
2024: 710 yards, 6 tds, 12 games
2025: will be another year older
and you want to pay that 17m per?

I would seriously just take a swing at Adams who will be released. No draft compensation lost and he doesnt facotr into the compensatory equation. He also knows the offenses terminology and the teams culture. He fulfills the need of getting a go to guy in must have it situations and the redzone. Then you go into the draft looking to get a young guy to develop in the first 3 rounds.lake shark wrote: ↑23 Jan 2025 14:05The problem is there are literally no good FA receivers this year aside from Tee Higgins. I think needing a big play deep threat is an overrated statement. The Rams do just fine wit Nacua/Kupp who arent any burners. Just get guys who can open and make a play.

Isn't there a STUD DLineman out there? I forget the guy's name. But seemed like he excels at everything when I saw his profile.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
Adams cares more about his catches than winning. Was upset in GB after a big win bc he only had 2 catches. Went to Vegas having to know that was no contender. Same for begging to go the jets. A contender could have used him if he wanted to go that route. Plus he’s not the same reciever he was 3 years ago
No thanks

I really like green but this might be to early for me. He will blow up the combine though.

I think we should go after another receiver. Jordan needs more reliable options.

I think with what Jaire said in the way out plus the prior years incident there’s no way you can keep him on the team. You can’t have that in a locker room full of young players to see. That in conjunction with the lack of availability just adds up to moving on whether that’s a trade or for nothing.
No way Stokes is back unless it’s as a janitor.
Nixon will be 28 at the start of this season.
Valentine has 2 years of control on his contract still and is a fine player.
Without a doubt in my mind this pick will be a CB.

I’d be on board with Davante returning, I lived about 5 miles from him when he had a house in Danville, CA. Solid dude. I just think he will have a lot of suitors and Gutey will have to pay more than he wants.

I have DB much higher on the list than WR. We need 2 at least that can play today.
Both Nixon and Sullivan improved late season, imo the lack of pass rush is what hurt our secondary more than lack of ability from those two, also the injury to Evan Williams and lack of coverage ability from Bullard didn't help them either.
is bringing in a new DL coach going to fix that? who knows, but I'am still leaning pass rusher a high priority.
as to Stokes, when a CB isn't targeted, when QB's don't throw in his direction, it says that CB has tight coverage, so stokes not getting playing time could suggest a injury not bad enough to report, but enough to stop him from playing, just spiffing.
we tend to do well in round two drafting receivers, and a speed demon should be available even later, personally I'd find a way to trade for a established vet, use Jaire and LVN to buy one

JMO,at slot 23 it's near impossible not to have about 5 or 6 players fit that BPA scenario, it's not the same as the top 8 or so first tier group, or after about to 30 or so, and team have to prioritize weaker positions
I get that we groom 1st rounders at some positions simply because those positions are tougher transitions, but there still positions of need

It's an age-old argument. I was making a joke about it. Gutekunst has specifically discussed this as plainly as one can, especially in Round 1. The Packers take account of position of need when stacking the board. Their BPA isn't for an expansion team with no one on the roster, it is for the Green Bay Packers. Need definitely plays a big part.Yoop wrote: ↑24 Jan 2025 08:36JMO,at slot 23 it's near impossible not to have about 5 or 6 players fit that BPA scenario, it's not the same as the top 8 or so first tier group, or after about to 30 or so, and team have to prioritize weaker positions
