On the other hand, he could be out of the league in 2 years with more cash than being a backup for many, with the potential to stay for many as a starter, making megabucks.
Yeah, I think this is the more likely scenario. Especially so if Willis gets more playing opportunities this year and sees similar success. I’m not sure fans appreciate the competitive mindset of these athletes and to presume one will opt for a backup role through prime years is denying the reality of competitive professional sports.

Oh we appreciate it. It's why it's the move these players make every time.

I've re-read the above and below, and it seems like they contradict each other. Not that you need to, but would you explain how the above says you expect him to leave, while the below (to which I originally replied) seems to indicate the opposite?

I actually have a sneaky feeling that Willis signs an extension to stay in GB as the backup. It would honestly be the lower risk career move. Better to stay with a team as a desired backup rather than go to some trash organization and get thrown to the wolves only to be out of the league in 2 years.

Willis has seen the rough side. I think he stays in GB.

Will completely depend on what’s he’s offered. If he gets competing starter money, or even and extra year or more guaranteed backup money. He’ll be gone. I would think if we are in the same neighborhood, he should resign with us. But gunna be out of our control.

The mere fact I am suggesting a sneaky feeling suggests it would be very out of the ordinary if Willis signs and extension to be our backup.

I fully understand what I am suggesting is very out of the ordinary and against the odds.

Absolutely.

Personally I don't see teams throwing out low end starter money to him. I can't see the league look at him more favorably than a Justin Fields or a Daniel Jones.

If he wants a crack at starting, it's likely with a bottom team on a 1 year contract competing against a top 5 draft pick and as his replacement. And possibly another vet as well.

I don’t think there’s a chance in hell Willis resigns with us. He’s going to want the opportunity to compete as a starter somewhere. He will never get that here and it limits his career earning and exposure.
Cancelled by the forum elites.

Fear of being "thrown to the wolves" makes sense for a rookie or a sophomore, but after this season and the next in GB actually being coached up, plus whatever experience he got in TEN, that's not a thing. He will have sat and learned for long enough.

I don't think failing as a starter will cut his career short. He can always take a career journeyman backup QB role after that, and his starting experience will just be a plus in that role.

His status?

His status is they need a WR who catches the ball. If it ain’t you, they’ll get somebody who can.

Be better.

Yeah former Bears fan Reed dropped a lot of balls so that better be Rosenhaus and not Reed doing the inquiring there.
