I don't think he will play much actual linebacker outside of SAM in a 4-3 alignment. You are playing the run in that alignment anyway.
When you are playing the pass, you probably want him at DE. It sounds like he's not very good in space for coverage duties.

I thought when they took him that he’s a LB. Just too small to play on the edge. Some guys can make it work but it’s few and far between. He’s not a Mike but that’s fine. He’s a very good athlete and rushing him from LB should be effective.
