Your forum name says it all...
White Pony is one of the best albums of the last 30 years - the rest of their stuff is just alright.
This new album (after about 5 full listens to) is actually their first “really good” album since White Pony - IMO.

Sturgill Simpson is one of my favorite artists. I was not a fan of his last rock album, but i have listened to his first three albums probably more than any other artists albums the last few years. He got out of his contract with his label, and rerecorded a bunch of his songs at John Prines studio in bluegrass style. He claims it is how he would have recorded the songs in the first place if his label wasnt telling him what to do. Im not sure i believe that, but the results for this new album are excellent.
The song I am posting here sticks out the most to me. I have listened to it over and over. The emotion conveyed, and the strings speak to me. Check it out!

Thinking about picking up John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth" boxset... or just the vinyl. Unfortunately the vinyl doesn't come with the blu-ray, and I'm hearing that sounds amazing.
Decisions.
I think if the wife seems me carrying in anymore vinyl she'll kill me. Might have to settle with the blu-ray set. "It's a movie hunny"

Remembered to re-visit one of my all time favorites -- The Weight with the BAND and STAPLES SINGERS. As much of a classic as the 1960s Packers Sweep. Here 'tis:
This girl does the freshest ragtime piano I have ever heard. I cannot stop listening... plus I am a sucker for Disney and she does a lot of classics.
