The XFLs business model was on the margin, e.g it was predicates on utilizing tons of cheap debt to front load, a plan that only works when the economy isn't contracting. Pretty unfortunate timing for them.

I only tuned into the first week, out of sheer curiosity. I never thought the league would last, but it's a shame that COVID hit at the time of the league opening up. I don't foresee them coming back.

Keep seeing things like this floating around, thought this one was actually decent.

I might rerate a little, can’t go wrong with any QB and Marshal Faulk might be the best value on the board.

Give me:
QB: Brent $2
RB: Marshal Faulk $1
WR: Jerry Rice $5
WR: Calvin Johnson $4
TE: Gonzo $3

Crazy how tempted I was to take Mahomes over Brent

So weird with different eras, but I will absolutely take that action.

Mahomes - $2
Faulk - $1
Randy - $5
TO - $4
Gronk - $3

$2 Mahomes = $2
$5 Sanders = $7
$5 Moss = $12
$1 Fitz = $13
$2 Gates = $15

... or the team NCF assembled.

Mahomes is as physically talented as any of them while also proving this year that he can rally his team to wins in high-stakes situations the way Brady and Montana could (both of whom are not as physically impressive).

Fitz, Faulk, and AP priced at $1 is highway robbery. Fitz and AP could produce without good talent around them. Faulk was just a nightmare of a weapon on offense.

Moss could make any QB look at least passable and Sanders did not need an OL. Worth every penny.

RB Sanders $5
WR2 Fitzgerald $1
WR1 Johnson $4
TE Gronk $3
QB Mahomes $2

Sanders and Mahomes for a fast backfield. Length for WR1. Great hands and versatility for WR2. Physical TE.

With the rookie QB's coming in, will guys like Jameis or Cam get starting jobs this year? I mean, there are limited opportunities out there, and with the Chargers saying they are all in on Tyrod (probably draft someone), and the Patriots saying they like the guys they have (Will probably draft another), the Fins will surely grab a QB. The Jags are going with FooManShoo (gross), will it happen?

I still think the patriots might trade for Andy Dalton on draft day.

They would have to get really creative to fit a 2nd contract QB under the cap.

They would need to somehow free up like 20-25 million.

Might just sit on Dalton for the year, maybe even let him begin the year as the starter.

Wouldn't it be something if Cam went to the Saints? He wouldn't displace Brees. But he'd make an interesting toy for their offense.

And don't da Bears always need a QB? I can't believe they'd put their all in Foles.

Bears kind of yeah.

But then I feel like you could add many other teams, Washington, Detroit, Minny, Carolina, 9ers, colts, Steelers, Broncos, etc etc all as teams that could use a 1st round QB.

You forgot the guy who led the NFL in passing yards last year. Dalton is not available, he is on a roster, even with rumors that they will trade him.

Ah yes, Jameis too...

I know Dalton isn't available, but I"m also sure he is at the same time. He costs 17.7 million against the cap, 0 dead money if Cincy trades him. Cincy is obviously a few years away, so playing the long game they can keep Dalton, let him walk in a year and get a 4th, maybe a 3rd comp pick for him in 2022. The team is likely better with him in the QB room. So it doesn't make much sense for Cincy to trade him just to trade him.

But everyone has their price, if someone, foolishly, dangles a 2nd round pick out there, I don't think they would hesitate much.

I hate stuff like this. I have no reason to care, but still just a reminder of how fragile life can be.
