Anyone else worried about a 6-6 center/guard in Stepaniak? Do interior linemen that tall succeed?
Measured at 6-foot-4 and 1/8 inch and 313 pounds at the combine, the Hoosiers’ 31-game starter concluded his four-year college career as a third-team All-Big Ten selection by media.

Why did I think he was 6-6?
It's Indiana, measuring height is a post grad study. :munch:

And I think I’d frankly rather have Patrick at center and Jenkins at guard. But who knows.
I'd rather get C settled for the future. Patrick won't be back after next season, so that is also part of reasoning in thinking if the young guys are the future, they will give them the jobs if they are able to get on even footing with Patrick. Another thing with Stepaniak is he is not a project at OG... he is one of the rare OG prospects that GB has drafted that played OG in school. I think he would have been picked much higher if not for the injury. This is a pretty high pedigree kid, I think.
Agreed, I absolutely want a C/G in this draft--not someone who needs to start right away, but a guy who can man those roles. I want the team to have options as to where they think it's best to play Jenkins, not be shoe-horned into putting him where they need him. And I want an OT--again, not that has to start next year, but who can be the heir apparent to Turner on the right side

Bakh - - Runyan - Jenkins - Patrick - - - Turner
Njimen - Taylor - ROOKIE - Stepaniak - ROOKIE

Looks pretty danged good to me.

I know we have Hansen and maybe he wins that spot, but I wouldn't feel comfortable without giving him competition there.
I agree with this. I am not as strong as you as are on drafting a Center/Guard. We will likely be stacked on the interior next year as your depth chart states.

I don't think having 10 Olinemen is necessary, but if there is a great prospect on day 3 absolutely take him. We are very, very good at Day 3 Olinemen so I would be in favor of doing it again if not just having another crack at the apple as it sounds like Hanson will not turn out to anything.

But even for center. Patrick, Jenkins and even Taylor all have center experience. Jenkins likely could develop into an elite center. Patrick would be a serviceable starter and Taylor is fine enough for that emergency duty. I mean our interior next year is gold even without Corey.

I do think RT is our priority next year and I would like to spend a pick on one in the top 3 rounds. Why I really liked the Bakh signing is because RT's are usually far easier to "find" in the draft after the top 25 picks then your left tackles. But getting a RT development who could possibly be a swing tackle would be a huge win for us and if he can't play left, we already have plenty of options to not have to worry about that in 2021 between Jenkins, Turner and Nijmen.

I think our top 4 needs in 2021 draft will be CB, DT, OT and ILB. There is a possibility we will be able to get someone on the cheap to fill one of those roles, but I also think we will need to rely on some rookie players contributing next year.
