26. Current

Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

I have to go ILB here, only 1 is gone, 2nd one is going to play a lot and have a big ST role.

Burks or Martin

I'm picking Martin because he's a U of Mn alum and Burks has shown nothing

I think Raven Greene is going to surprise a lot of people this year, in terms of playing time and impact.

With EQ gone I have to go MVS right behind. Many wrote off Davante Adams after a sophomore slump.

Greene if he starts and stays healthy but neither one of those is a given. He has been injury prone and I don't think he's at all a sure thing to start over Martin or Bolton. I still think MVS has the advantage over EQ, but still, we are talking WR3 at best, WR4 and 5 more realistically. Crosby's consistent field goals are more important than backup receiver yards and occasional scores.

As for Burks, I am expecting him to get cut, frankly.

Same. I have to go Greene before Martin or Burks as he showed us something, even as little as it was. He might be our hybrid ILB/S to start.

As for MVS and EQ being backup WRs, I fully expect one of them to be WR3 this season.

As a general rule, I always vote Crosby as soon as people start pushing for him so I don't have to see days' worth of kicker discussion.

and don't think for one moment that I don't appreciate that Yoho :aok: I know I'am a royal pain about this stuff, I suppose I lean to far towards team building and filling all the positions, versus the more conventional thought of just picking the BPA prospect with less regard for position.

I did agree with some here to just eliminate the punter and kicker from this exercise, seriously i'd be fine with that, really, although I would surely miss the annual attention you pay there selection, each season.

Yeah, good riddance. I understand that a good kicker is valuable, but he is a streaky kicker whose leg is below average for distance. Half the rookies from last year's class would be better than he is but will never get the chance to prove it. He may very well win a game for the Packers but over his career he has lost 2 for every one he has won and any rookie can do that.

you must think that Guty and Ted are fools then for paying him as much as they do, there isn't even a smidge of truth to anything you just said, you think the nfl is in the blocking rookie's from playing business, Crosby has won a hell of a lot more games then he's lost us, and while you and others complain because he doesn't kick it out of the back of the EZ you expose your low football IQ's, and you can be sure Yoop is laughing, :thwap: , kicking it out of the back of the EZ puts the ball at the 25 yrd line, but getting great hang time and dropping it at the 5 so your coverage teams can make the tackle and down the ball prior to the 25 yrd line is obviously the goal, provided you have a kicker like Crosby that can do it, seriously now, you and everyone that comes to this forum should know this stuff, it's not that hard to figure out, why give a team that type of cushion if your coverage group is good and you have a kicker that can so consistently drop the ball inside the 10 yrd line, u's people are so axe backward with your thinking, it is counter productive to kick the ball out of the end zone unless your facing a very dangerous return specialist of which we may see once a season, big deal.

No, Crosby is doing exactly what the coaching staff wants, as I just explained there is very little value to being able to kick long, as long as you can still kick a 50 yrd FG your leg is strong enough, and Crosby has proven, he can still do that.

I can't believe you, after all these years of football, would not pick up on the non issue of kicking it out of the end zone.

He lost 2018 Cardinals and at Lions (2019?). He has won more than that.
