I'm surprised no one is complaining about the general lack of production from EQ St. Brown.

By the end of his 3rd season in the NFL Jordy Nelson has 1268 yards receiving and 6 TDs. With 6 games to play, MVS has 1551 yards and 8 TDs.

This is not to say he is Nelson or will be as good as Nelson. MVS had his struggles last year and earlier this year, but has come on the last 3 games. He is more than a fringe roster guy who is no better than a 4th WR. His best spot is probably as a #3 who can fill in as a #2 if necessary.

I'll take a receiving corp of Adams, Lazard, and Valdes-Scantling. With Jones, Williams, Tonyan, Sternerger, and Lewis, that is more than enough talent to be a consistently good offense.

MVS has been given every opportunity to take over the WR position next to Adams. He just can’t.

MVS was also far less polished than Nelson and is just now showing that he can be worthy of a more expanded role. Also to say Nelson was behind James Jones or that Nelson gets a pass for not beating him out is a bit hypocritical. Writing MVS off is premature. Saying he can't be a big contributor to the offense is simply untrue. He has been, but what he hasn't found yet is consistency.

Scantling, Brown, and the other one, who I thought was drafted a round earlier where expected to compete for #3 or even #2 as rookies, even first rounders have a hard time doing that year one.

like everyone I'am pulling for Scantling, Tonyun too, poster boys for the D&D process, however when your developmental players out number the developed ones, well, you'll get the inconsistent issues we've had,.

Rodgers struggles to often to find open receivers, and it takes to much time for MVS, Lazard to get open with the limited routes there affective at, the FO concentrated so much on getting these tall receivers with limited hips and cod skills that now out side of Adams they make up the receiver squad ( I consider Ervin and Jones to be RB)
as I said, when ya listen to MLF and his scheme proposals from a year ago, of our first 3 picks this year only the TE (Dequara) seems like a good fit, forgetting Love, Dillon the RB seems anything but suited to propel the MLF schemes of stretch runs and up tempo mis direction plays that require speed over Braun, so thats confusing.

to me the piece to this offense thats missing is the gadget guy, I thought that guy could be Jones, or maybe even Ervin, neither seem able to stay healthy, everyone knows I wanted Jefferson outta this draft class, it's hard for me not to become redundent concerning this, as I said our top 3 are sitting watching him strut his stuff, whatever, there where some Jefferson types in later rounds that might have helped us about now, we struggle with uptempo short zone chain movers, defenses take Adams away, and he seems to be our only slot guy that can get open quick.

MVS is getting heat because he drops half the balls that come his way. The fumble is just the lightning rod that focused the abuse. Jordy had a nice championship run in his second year to set him up as a future star. MVS can be great just has to find some hands.

And the death threats unfortunately show the idiocy that taken over this country.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if he is back on a cheaper one year deal. He’s not gunna get much on the market with no one having cap room.

Me too. Not so much as a returner but more as a new receiver option in case one or more of our guys get hurt. Like someone posted......we already have returner options in Jaire and Jamaal. Back in the day we had no problem plugging in what were to become Hall of Fame defensive backs (Adderley and Wood) to run back kicks and punts. Wondering if EQ St Brown can run back a kick? Doesn't do much else anyway. Can St. Brown play defensive back?

Let's see if Gutey can find some defensive help as well.

I was the one who posted we have options for returner, but I can assure that Tavon Austin would be signed for the backup returner role primarily.

No argument but just a comment..........still waiting for 19 and 86 to emerge. Maybe they're really good on Special Teams, I don't know.

I think Austin would become the main returner, it could help Ervin stay fresh/healthy for his job on offense.

Yeah, I’d have no problem with Austin getting snaps ahead of St Brown, Shepherd and Taylor.

Just play him like Ervin, slants, quick outs, go’s, and jet sweep motion.

Signing Austin is a great move. Gutey recognized a weakness and is at the very least attempting to correct it, although a week too late. Sheppard was the worst returner in the entire league to the point where every team was kicking short and banking in Sheppard being to slow to make teams pay. I don’t know what they expected different this year.

Austin has always been a pretty average receiver. I could see him offering minimal value maybe on the end around and bubble screens but he’s too small to block. He’s always been a very dangerous punt returner. His kick returns have been pretty blah throughout his career but he’s got enough to speed to force to teams not to blatantly kick to him.

We haven't signed Austin yet. But I hope we do and cut Shepherd.

I don't hate Shepherd for one mistake.

But I do when he made thr mistake last year vs Detroit. Didn't get in the EZ vs Atlanta and then cost us a W last week.

He hasn't done anything in games, literally anything, to make up for his liabilities.

A person like that needs to go.
