Schefter must absolutely be burning the phone lines until this deal breaks. He won’t get another such high profile player trade in his lifetime, unless one of the young guys moves in another ten years or so.

His wording is so weird.

It almost sounds like the Jets have told him it's done but they aren't willing to say so on the record. He said something about how everyone is sensitive to letting Rodgers control how the news breaks. So he keep equivocating his words like "cautiously optimistic, but no one knows anything with this guy until we hear it from him"

I don't care about backup QB at all. :) We are not in a championship window or making any kind of push, so there is no season to save if Love goes down with injury or otherwise does not work out.

Bring back Etling and bring in some rooks. Don't bother with retreads.

It's just so annoying. Really looking forward to Jordan Love not only being our QB, but the person behind the microphone as well.

Rodgers wanted James Jones breaking the news for his contract a while back. Probably wants Pat Mcafee to get the go ahead.

Part of the deal probably includes the Jets signing Cobb at the league minimum. That way Cobb can lecture the other receivers on how they’re supposed to act around Rodgers.

Its not done yet. I still could see drama. But in case it goes its way it will be interesting to hear later who broke up with whom - did Rodgers tell the Packers he wanted to move or vice versa. Because my guess is it was Rodgers who dumped us.

I'm so confused how you could not already have that answer. We moved on. We moved on before he made his decision. We had moved on at the combine. By many accounts, Gutey had moved on by week 9 last year. How many different reporters have to individually report that the team is "done" with him before you realize it's true? We'll know nothing more after this deal than we know now about this situation. The team thinks Rodgers phoned it in last year and is out on him.

I wonder if we're at the stage where compensation is still being negotiated. Maybe Packers increased their asking price based on the market?

GUYS WE ARE LITERALLY WAITING FOR AARON RODGERS TO MAKE HIS INTENTIONS BETWEEN RETIREMENT AND ACCEPTING THE TRADE TO THE JETS PUBLIC AND EVERYONE IS REPORTING IT. WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP WONDERING WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Because Packers fans aren’t smart.

We don't actually know this. He could have told everyone his intentions already and specifics of the deal could be holding up an announcement.

Jimmy G owned Rodgers when they most recently faced each other in the playoffs. 2019 he had the better team, so that's whatever, but 2021 was an embarrassment, and if that wasn't enough to convince people, Rodgers out-Lion'd a Lions team with nothing to play for (thumb healed, btw) in a critical, must-win game. At Lambeau. In December. Making the exact same mistake that cost them the previous season.

Yeah Jimmy G is younger, will play next year, won't cost you picks, all that is true, but there is a bigger truth to come to terms with: Aaron Rodgers IS NOT GOOD. And most of the league is wise to it now.

Jets still want him because one year of mediocre QB play makes him a Top 5 QB in their team history; this team's fans have nostalgia for Favre and Sanchize. Carolina reportedly came calling, but they recently decide to make a big trade for the top QB prospect in the upcoming draft.

The emperor has no clothes.
This is what I have been wondering. Do all the other teams see what we have been seeing come playoff time every year? Are they just paying lip service in public?

We’ve seen Rodgers decline in the cold, just like we saw Favre decline in the cold. It doesn’t mean he’s bad in the cold (unless he is). It just means that he isn’t as good in the cold (unless he’s bad).

So, Aaron needs to stay in the 40+ degree area to be most affective.
:-)

He could still end up with us, not officially ruled out. All three options are still on the table. We have no idea how much meat there is to some bones of some of those twitter messages.
