Packers need to get smart and leak that the Jets must think pretty low of Rodgers if they arent willing to offer anything of value, or threaten to bring in other teams to the trade talks

By the way, the notion that the Packers lose any leverage is incorrect. They can continue to hold firm because ultimately, they hold the player the Jets want. No matter what Rodgers says, there is equal pressure for the Jets to make this deal happen.

If the trade collapses GB has #12 under contract. Drama! The Jets can always call GOAT, go in for Lamar or call it a day and look for next season where they‘d get #12 for free. I see an advantage for NYJ in negotiation leverage.

The Packers have no leverage in ordinary terms, but funnily they do have some because of the Jets essentially promising AR and SB dreams to their fan base. Going back on it and giving them a 2nd hand QB would lead to a mutiny and get everyone fired at the Jets HQ.

Ball is in Packers court to avoid a public relations nightmare like 2008. Get the trade done by the end of the week and everyone will move on.
thats why Packers lost their leverage. PR nightmare with media and future free agents
The Packers have THE leverage. They have the player under contract. The Jets don’t.

For real though, Jets are pretty big idiots trying to get old man Rodgers rather than Lamar Jackson, haha.

Rodgers knew (felt) The Packers were moving on. Think about it. Failed championship games and a subpar season and a young QB that they need to see play. So the fact Gutekunst and Murphy didn’t come out and tell him when the season ended means nothing to me.

Rodgers is very calculating. He didn’t just want to clear the air today. He wanted to put pressure on the Packers to facilitate the trade and not hold up the process by asking a lot from the Jets. I’m sure Rodgers would want the Jets to hold on to their 1st round pick. Since that’ll be his team.

That’s what I saw when I watched McAfee.

Drama and potential free agents mean nothing to the Packers.

We already know there is drama and we already know we won't get free agents.

Do we believe Rodgers that the org basically lied to him? And that they werent forthcoming with their intentions?
why wouldn't we? I'd sure like to know what Rodgers and Murphy discussed in the off season of 2018 when Murphy re did his contract that had 2 years still remaining and gave him 120 mil more, why did Murphy do that?

this being a done deal is what some of us have said for the last 3 days, same with this phony player list. media created drama.

He is NOT offended at all. McAfee stirring things up a little with how former players were treated. 12 still saying that he is totally okay and loves every person in the organization. “Nothing but love and appreciation.”
Scott what would you say in his shoes? the same thing, he is not about to act like a spoiled sport, he wants to show a positive attitude with his new boss, new team, no way he's going to show disgust with Gute or the Packer FO, or even Fans. he wants to leave hoping everyone connected to the Packers appreciates what he meant to this team, why would he burn those bridges.

what he said is for the public, it doesn't mean much to me.

wonder the pschology behind Rodgers always emasculating his coaches by calling them by their first names, or some abbreviation of their first name...when literally everyone else calls them "coach so and so"

what do you think will happen at 1265 should the Jets say we've had enough with trying to satisfy the GB FO, where done, GB would be eating 60 mil. dollars, with zero compensation and a QB frenzy, how much do you think the Packer board of directors will put up with?

nothing, He is almost as old as his coach, Favre called Holmgren by his first name near the end to, when you know as much about Football as these type QB's respect is a mutual thing

If this year's first isn't included no deal! It's Rodgers cap hit that's going to hurt this team so having two rookie deals at impact positions will lessen that.
I say this year's first and a conditional next year depending how many games he plays or how far they get etc that could be a first

I even believe #12 that the Packers originally wanted him back right after the end of the season. Then they watched tape again and closely…and this is where MLF/Gute might have changed their opinion. Makes totally sense: you want something but then you take time to analyze the situation deeper and come to a different conclusion.

i think they may have been fine with him coming back and then he took 6 weeks before they heard anything.

They were probably thinking they would hear like in a month...

Then we'd hang onto AR until the next team would come calling. And they would come calling. GB has messaged they'll part with AR, but not for just any price.

In most years, the GB organization is drama-free, boring even. It's fine by me to have high drama when it's the time for drama. :D
