If he wins, I'll be happy for him but yes, like many of you said, a bit jealous that he got over the Playoff hump.
Since our SB run, he's 7-9 in the playoffs, and I can really only point to a few games where he played lights out. Before yoop jumps all over this, yes there were a lot of contributing factors to those losses and I am not saying that Rodgers was the sole reason for those losses. I'm just saying that if he wins with the Jets, there's a good chance that he will have outplayed either Mahomes or Allen (or both) to get to the Super Bowl.
I'm also screenshotting this post in case he tried to say that I've posted that Rodgers is the sole reason for the Packers not winning another ring in future threads that he derails.

The only time I let real emotion get to me in football outside the Packers was when Seattle failed the 4th and 1 in the Patriots SB and when Favre threw that bone headed INT just like he did in 2007 to Donald Driver when Ryan Grant was wide open.
Yup, and I want that with Rodgers (Favre INT redux).

I'd be happy for him. He didn't burn his way out of town like Favre did. It was relatively drama free and we got a good deal out of it. I don't think we would have won with him this year anyway. I don't expect the Jets to win it all but good luck to them. We've moved on for better or worse. Go Pack Go!

I would be jealous because the "why not us" game would play in my head. Very similar had Favre and the Vikes done it in 2009.
Co-sign, I would be bitter; especially when in my mind he was the reason we failed to do it in at least two seasons.
But I could be okay with it if he wins it the way Peyton Manning did in Denver, i.e. he plays so poorly that the rest of the team needs to carry him, and nobody rationally credits him with the win.
As for the draft pick, my mindset is House Money. My expectation is low so the higher it is, the more pleasant the surprise. But for all intents and purposes, it's out of my mind, plays no part in what I want with Rodgers/NYJ; I want Rodgers to fail for moral reasons.

Justice was served in both those moments. And it pleased me greatly. But I don't get into emotional moral rooting very often.

I wont do that Acrobat, simply because it's also reality to say the rest of the QB's that have won more PO games had to rely on the supporting cast they had and there group played better.

No I called the 2015 - 2018 teams bad. Because they were bad teams. I was on the "move on from MM by October 2018" because it was obvious the time and era was over. I was harsh on Murphy every time he opened his mouth regarding Rodgers because I expect more out of an executive. My position on Gutekunst is that he is a good GM but not a great GM. He has made a lot of mistakes, but also made a lot of great decisions which puts him around that 8th to 12th range right now. Above average, but certainly not great.
What I won't do is correlate every on field mistake to the organization's very top (fire TT/BG, Mark Murphy, Board, etc.) or pin point specific plays in a big game to draft and personnel strategy over a 5 year period because I understand that specific and cherry picked data points cannot be tied to a hard cause and effect answer until you build up a series of events to actually start providing a cause and effect correlation.
It's hard for me to buy into our 2020 failure being the result of not drafting more offensive players from 2016 - 2020 when that same strategy provided the number one offense in the league that season. But I will also state that drafting Sternberger over McLaurin, Meyer or Humphrey, and not going harder after OBJ when the fit was there were absolutely mistakes. Of course, nobody is perfect...or at least that is what I am told whenever a Rodgers mistake is brought.
And to go above that, "forgotten mistakes" like signing Rasul Douglas over Stephon Gilmore or overpaying for Adrian Amos far too quickly never get brought up.

the only thing wrong with McCarthy schemes is that he didn't use enough small ball scheme, both run and pass, but it was the GM's fault for not improving on the beat up Cobb and Nelson so his spread verticals could continue to work, so I disagree, the long ball schemes simply required better receivers, NO with Bree's and others continued to have success because they kept bringing in receivers.

I'm rooting so hard for #8 to make it to the Super Bowl again ........ Maybe 'cuz he's finally out of here and it's time to move on.
As the Skeptic said, I don't want him to get another ring mainly because it will hurt us draft wise in 2024. I want Rodgers to play enough snaps to get us that first round pick. If NY misses the playoffs that helps us. I won't shed a tear if they flop big time.

really, look around the league GPG, teams with excellent QB's give them more then 1 #1 receiver and a bunch of raw recruits that take 3 years to coach up into #3 or 4 tier receivers, they have to be #2's on our team because no one else is better.

The biggest thing I care about is 65% of the snaps. Beyond that, I'll be trying to root for the draft pick to be as good as possible. That said, if Rodgers delivers an SB, it is what it is. I don't think the Jets will win the SB. Tough division, and realistically Rodgers isn't a top 3 QB in the division, and might be further down than that.

He is easily #2 in that division.

If we are talking this season, not all time, not MVP 2 years ago, etc, i can't get on board with this.
Mahomes
Burrow
Allen
Jackson
Watson
Wilson
Herbert
No way I'm putting him above Mahomes or Burrow. I think he will settle in somewhere in the second group.

Sorry yes you are correct. I was thinking Conference but typed division. So I'll agree with 2.

If Rodgers wins the SB analytically I would be upset because it means we got a worse draft pick.
As a fan I would be very happy for Rodgers. He was too great of a QB to only have one SB appearance. It’s been a combination of some very bad teams and very bad luck.
When Rodgers career will be looked back on it will be he only had one SB. But if anyone really deep dives on his career we will notice Brandon Buttstick dropping an onside kick. A defense that just couldn’t stop Kaepernick. An abysmal 2015 supporting cast. A talentless 2016 team that Rodgers drug all the way to the conference championship. A GM that had &%$@ for brains… and another one who had dementia or something Like that.
