decent run stopper with very good pass rush potential, which makes him a 3 dn player, Clark isn't getting any younger, and
Harmon seems like a Kenny clone
Harmon is very different from Clark; he has a lot more length (6'6 versus 6'3), and his game is more about knifing through blocks than eating them like Clark does. Harmon is more like a Christian Wilkins.

I thought Kenny was 6.4? whatever, your probably right, they are a bit different in technique, I was thinking of tech 1 ability, both can man up the job of the NT, both are stout enough to two gap, that was mostly my point, will he be as good as prime Clark, and do what he has done? I think so, and why I'd take him if he drops to us, IMHO DT, good DT is harder to acquire than every position besides QB and LT, so ya gotta take one when ya can.
just look at that Wiki article I brought about Ted, look at all the DL misses

I’m starting to lean into edge being the must pick. DT is an absolute need next year. For this season you still have Wyatt, Clark, Brooks, and Wooden. You can get away with The first 3 as your base rotation.
Right now you need an edge. You can’t just rely on LVN to hit that year 3 jump. We need an answer.
I thought we were bringing in Hendrickson, no?
you might be right, but most mocks have the best edge going early with quality DT's going into round two.
this is the best DT class in years according to scouts, normally I wouldn't take one in round one after the best of the bunch is gone by top 15 slots, this year is different. jmo
From everything I have seen Harmon is more like a Davonte Wyatt compared to a Kenny Clark.

I feel like just about every draft class is about 50 guys deep. Some slightly more, some slightly less. EDGE, DT, and WR are immediate needs, long-term needs, needs for next year, needs for two years down the road, needs forever. Unfortunately, we only have two truly premium picks this year and even Round 2 seems to be outside the range I would like.
It will be interesting to see what moves the Packers make. I could see maneuvering up, I could see trading back. Just about the only thing that doesn't look good is standing pat.

whats the differences that you see? personally just reading bio, Harmon is bigger, and better at everything you want from a DT in a 1 gap scheme than Wyatt, IMO in this draft class Wyatt is a 2nd round pick, Harmon on the other hand could be gone by slot 15 in this heavy DT class.
but again, no film study and just reading draft profile

Clark made his money and career on excelling primarily in a 2 gap scheme by clogging the middle and creating opportunities for his teammates.
Wyatt is much more of a 1 gap guy who slashes through the line and gets to the QB. I see that same thing when watching Harmon Oregon tape.

Could be an opportunity to slide back. We are right ahead of MN who will likely be eying DBs and maybe even a top RB as it's a good group.
There could be other teams who want say a top safety and be interested in in sliding to slot 23 to snipe them from MN.

come on, your acting quite narrow minded here

, Grant was tasked with doing that because we used a 2 gap scheme, but now we don't, that in no way means that Harmon or even the lighter Wyatt could not do ok 2 gapping, specially Harmon as he is bigger than Clark, none of the 3 have the size a team would like for 2 gapping, Clark got handled plenty over the years doing it
anyway I think we are arguing a lost cause, I don't see Harmon lasting into the 20's, he just ticks to many check points teams desire in a 3 tech

I don't see Harmon as a Wyatt. Sure they are both 3-techs that slash through blockers but there are all kinds of guys who you can say that about yet are all quite different from each other, like everyone from Ed Oliver to Deforest Buckner.
Harmon is very long, has more linear movement, but also a lot of savvy. Wyatt is squatty, better lateral movement and quickness than Harmon, but his instincts are p!ss poor and he constantly runs himself out of plays. I think Harmon's strength is also good enough not to get bullied against the run, whereas Wyatt is a lot easier to displace.
Christian Wilkins if it all hits, IMO. NFL dot com says Daquan Jones.

thanks
I think you know me though, and that IMHO this talk of he does this well, or not so well, is mostly determined by their past coaching, and schemes they played in, it's like saying a edge rusher is better as a DE or a OLB just based on size when it's obviously more than just that.
your getting me all hyped up on Harmon now

Our need at CB is more for depth and developmental talent than for someone to play this year.
I kind of want to see us take a bunch of swings on high-upside guys there in Day 3, make them ST guys this year and see if Hafley can get any of them to become viable starters by Year 3.

The player I like the most in terms of traits, build, etc. is Azareye'h Thomas. Only problem is he is raw as hell.
He is my top "hope we get him Day 2 guy" because we would have the luxury of having him learn and develop him before we need to rely heavier on him in 2026.

Back to the big boy dts. I would be happy with any of
Grant
Nolan
Harmon
I'm that order. I agree with if your looking for just a big run stuffer you can wait. If your taking Grant your doing it bc you believe he's Lawrence. I do and he's just scratching the surface. His best football is coming.
Nolan is the most pro ready imo. He lives in the backfield and is a tackling machine. Strong against both pass and run
Harvin might be the most packerish body type. He's not the run guy like the other 2 but has a monster 24. Played and different weights will be interesting if we want him lighter or had a little.
I like all 3. I can see a few edge guys if they are on the board but have a hard time seeing GB passing on any of these dudes

I will also say, Emeka Egbuka is in play for me at 23, as much as are Golden and Burden (to me, they are all kind of the same guy). He's not elite, but then I doubt you have a shot at a truly elite prospect at #23 anyway, and I can see the production we get out of him being worth the investment.
Burden is not as polished as the other two, but I think he might be the most dynamic of the bunch. We don't need our rookie WR to be a starter this year, so much as we need them to be a solid rotational piece, and then maybe start next year to absorb the losses of Doubs and/or Watson.
