I will not let any amount of logic or cost considerations dampen my excitement for the return of my favorite player to my favorite team. I get to re-activate my Cobb jersey!

Agreed. Houston is only "eating it" if we give them a nicer draft pick to do it.

My guess is we ship a 4th and EQSB to HOU so it basically replaces their 5th sent to CHI for Anthony Miller. In return, HOU eats "some" of the cap.
Make it a 5th and I am very happy with that deal. This IS Houston we are talking about here...

Bringing Cobb back does make a lot of sense in terms of what he brings on-field, even before we brought AmRod into the fold and can use a mentor to him: Lafleur scheme could make good use of his skill-set (hello, jet-sweep specialist), he has a knack for finding the open space – especially when Rodgers goes off-script, and he brings a WR type that we lack and can play off of the big tall targets well.

But it's still kind of dumb financially. A team with the league's #1 offense has better things to spend that kind of money on (given his contract) than WR3.

'Not going to get too worked up over it because it's clearly part of a very short-term, all-in move – this is par for the course. Still, kinda has to end in a SuperBowl win to justify the move.

Haha my exact thoughts. Plus, he's a veteran guy, likeable, and I think he will help us convert some 3 downs this year just based off of his chemistry with AROD.

This is my biggest sticking point as well.

Who knows. Rodgers to the Broncos was as good as done as well. But I really think this is happening.

i dismissed this strongly, if it turns out to be true i will admit i was very wrong in my take.

If this is all the team has to do to make Rodgers a happy man, why not.

But this kind of makes Rodgers look silly if he could ask for almost anything within reason, and this is his one wish lol

I still think he asked Jordy to unretire first and then went to Cobb when Jordy declined.

Aaron could quickly earn a lot of brownie points with fans if he would reduce his salary a bit to 'fit Cobb' under the cap.

Jake Dolegala just lucked his way into a few bucks if Cobb wants to buy #18 off him. :lol:

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Cobb take a single digit number, seems to be the trendy, yet expensive, choice for some players this offseason. This would be free for Cobb to switch now.
