If they'd do the right thing and elect Dilweg (5X All Pro), Lewellen (4X All Pro), Howton (2X All Pro, all time receptions leader when he retired from the NFL), Sharpe (3X All Pro) and Gillingham (2X All Pro), then the tally would be correct..........finally. Note: Not all years had 2nd team All Pro players...........just first team All-Pro players. Of course, Aaron Rodgers will be added to the list later too.
It's gonna be a long shot for Dilweg, Lewellen and Howton to get in. There hasn't been a Senior Inductee from their era since 2016. Sharpe just didn't play long enough and Gillingham probably won't because he played during the Lombardi years. Look how long it took Kramer?RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022 11:07If they'd do the right thing and elect Dilweg (5X All Pro), Lewellen (4X All Pro), Howton (2X All Pro, all time receptions leader when he retired from the NFL), Sharpe (3X All Pro) and Gillingham (6X All Pro), then the tally would be correct..........finally. I'm hoping that the Bobby Dillon selection in 2020 helps break the log jam for Bill Howton as a Senior Inductee (both were from the 1950s). But I do agree with you that it's a long shot for Howton, Dilweg and Lewellen. I'm still truly hopeful for Sterling Sharpe and Gale Gillingham based on their All-Pro selection records.Pugger wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022 11:23It's gonna be a long shot for Dilweg, Lewellen and Howton to get in. We'll troll the Bears by keeping pace when Julius Peppers gets in tooRingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022 11:07Of course, Aaron Rodgers will be added to the list later too.
Bill Howton has 503 career receptions. Bob Hayes has 371 career receptions. Bob Hayes is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Bill Howton is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑12 Feb 2022 12:55I'm hoping that the Bobby Dillon selection in 2020 helps break the log jam for Bill Howton as a Senior Inductee (both were from the 1950s).
