Check your rosters. I tried to stay on top of things.

@Pckfn23 your roster is full so I could not add your last pick. Once you make a cut, let me know.

Putting this here because FleaFlicker's trade bait feature sucks dick.

Gus Edwards lead back for Chargers on the trade block.
Nick Chubb on the trade block.
Keenan Allen on the trade block.
Dallas Goedert on the trade block.

Anyone interested? Looking for QB/WR/upgrades at any position, anything really.

We started this thread with a few potential rule changes that we never got around to talking about seriously:

1. Using FAAB for waivers. I'm down, but I want FAAB to be tradeable.
2. Using Potential Points (Optimum Points For on Fleaflicker) to determine the following year's draft order rather than ranking based on record for non-playoff teams.

I would also like to suggest that we switch to records that incorporate an extra game each week against the league median for the week. I'm sure most of you have seen how this works, but it at least partially removes some of the luck of scheduling. For example, if you win a game with a lousy score by being lucky enough to go up against the team with the worst week, you get one win for it, but likely get a loss against the median, so you go 1-1 for the week. Likewise, if you score the second most points, but played the top team and lost, you will go 1-1 for the week by beating the league average.

Something to consider.

I like FAAB and agree they should be tradable. It’s that way in all my leagues.

The rest is a NO for me.

I might like it more. What is FAAB?

Basically blind bidding dollars.

Free Agent Acquisition Budget - there is still a waiver priority order, but you have a budget (let's say $100) to bid in a given season on waivers, and in any given week the highest bidder gets the player, with ties going to the regular waiver priority holder. In this scenario, you can also include FAAB dollars in trades.

Got anyone who will still be in the league in 2026?

Forgot that anyone over 23 is useless in this league.

Yep. We need an official proposal next year. So dumb not to open it up now.

I'm not sure what an official proposal looks like but I tried to bring all that up several times now. I think the reasoning in the past was that opening waivers earlier was advantageous to the fantasy nerds (like myself) who have the time and inclination to keep up with fantasy all offseason. I'm good either way.

It'd be good to know the roster cutdown date. I'm assuming around September 1 so waivers run that Tuesday/Wednesday prior to the first game on the 4th?

I should have done this earlier but I went back to the 2021 thread and found this post in which I quoted our schedules d from 2019 and 2020 and my recollection is indeed correct that we used to open waivers right after the draft.

But every year we would argue about it and how we used to do it and no one remembered right. And at some point over the past three years we collectively accepted an incorrect recollection of the facts.

Next year, let’s just open waivers after the draft. We don’t need to talk about it. We don’t need to argue about it. This is how we used to do it. This is how the people with commissioner power want it (i hesitate to call myself a co commish anymore given how lazy I’ve been about it for two years now). We’re doing it.

Also when the argument for not doing it is that it benefits people who pay attention and try harder, that’s actually an argument for doing it. The rules should encourage engagement.

I'm going to propose a draft date beginning Monday, July 5th, 2021.

I'm going to wait on the rest of the schedule until the NFL releases its schedule next week to make sure the start times and cutdown days make sense. But I wanted to get the draft on everyone's radar at least.

Below I have the past two years' schedules for reference.

July 6, 2020 (Monday) - Rookie draft begins
- Drafted players added to the rosters by commissioners
- If you have more than 4 draft picks, ensure that you have roster space for all picks

July 20, 2020 (Monday) - Waiver open; add/drop permitted within player limit, until....

September 7th (Labor Day, Monday) - Cutdown Day. All rosters must be at 29 active + 3 IR by noon.

July 9, 2018 (Monday) - Rookie draft begins
- Drafted players added to the rosters by commissioners
- if you have more than 4 draft picks, ensure that you have roster space for all picks

July 23, 2018 (Monday) - Waivers open; add/drop permitted with 36-player roster limit until...

August 28 (Friday before Labor Day weekend) - cutdown day. All rosters must be at 29 active + 3 IR by noon.
Rosters are locked throughout the offseason. Roster Maximum set at 36 players, 0 IR (29 + 3 IR + 4 eventual draft picks is a fair cutoff). Trades are, of course, still permitted.

July 8, 2019 (Monday) - Rookie draft begins
- Drafted players added to the rosters by commissioners
- if you have more than 4 draft picks, ensure that you have roster space for all picks

July 22, 2019 (Monday) - Waivers open; add/drop permitted with 36-player roster limit until...

September 2 (Labor Day) - cutdown day. All rosters must be at 29 active + 3 IR by noon.

(NFL final roster cuts are Saturday August 31, so I wanted to push back our cuts until after that, but still have enough time for waivers prior to week 1)

Have checked and can also note confirm we opened up waivers after the draft in 2022 but with a slight delay due to some confusion and chatter.

So 2019, 20, 21, and 22

This year is the outlier. We shall never go back

Agreed.

Sunday, September 1st by 7 pm. Everyone good with that?
